Alison is absolutely amazing she is so knowledgeable and understanding her bed side manner is one of the best I have ever come across. She knew exactly what my problem was and exactly how to make it better !!! Thank you Alison. I would also like to thank the kind women who checks in and registers patients she is always so kind and caring. My MA/nurse was also great !!!Great JobCandice
I set a time on the website and checked in when I arrived. I provided my info and waited 5 minutes. A tech brought me into a room and took vitals. The doctor came in right after, asked some questions, gave me a plan and I was on my way. Very painless. All of the staff I interacted with were very pleasant and the facility was nice and clean. I will be back.
The friendliest urgent care Ive been to. I was a little skeptical reading a few of the 1-star reviews on here, and am kind of surprised by them as I only experienced good things here. The practitioners were very nice. I was seen by Dr. Matt, and this very nice blonde woman whose name I wish I remembered. For not having a lot of staff on shift, they were fairly quick too. Usually at other urgent care facilities, Im kept waiting in the consultation room for 45 minutes to an hour before being treated. Id say I only had to wait 10 minutes max. I would definitely come here again.
The staff at this facility is very pleasant courteous and friendly. I didn’t have to wait too long as I was having difficulties in breathing. Jenn the APRN was very nice knowledgeable and treated me promptly. She also took the trouble in printing coupons for me to get a cheaper medication. I felt a lot better by the time I was done with the treatment. Thank you so much Jenn for your kindness. I hope I don’t have to go back but if and when I do I will definitely choose this facility again. 🙏
Monday is a busy day for your at GoHealth Urgent Care, they had a couple emergency patients which created longer waits. They were very good communicating that to the patients in the waiting room. The staff was very courteous and professional. They spend plenty of time explaining what was going to happen next and the timing once I got into the treatment room and made sure I understand they referral they set up for me. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.
I received excellent care. Everything was explained, felt my care plan was thoughtful, thoroughly examined and best in class. When I discharged I felt empowered with the info I needed to understand what happened and how to move forward. It was a very humbling experience. Kudos to staff.
Tripped and fell on side of my arm. Pain on right severe. Thought I had strained oblique muscle. Next day pain persisted. Made an appointment at Avon clinic which was great since did not have to wait very long in pain. Doctor after reviewing x ray assessed I had broken three ribs. Dr. Immediately suggest a cat scan. Gave me choice of locations but what was great he immediately notified the hospital I was on the way. Doctors diagnosis confirmed. In summary, it was great to have appointment, friendly and competent medical professionals who followed thru to ensure my problem was verified by more detailed.
Ive had to go here twice for different reasons.First I had what I thought was strep throat and was seen quickly and confirmed quickly it wasnt, it likely was some other viral issue that presents like Strep.Second I cut my finger and needed stitches, the saw me very quickly and saved me a trip to the ER.I will continue to go to this urgent care, they are kind people and take good care of you and they are conveniently located for people in Avon, Canton and Simsbury!
Wonderful staff...In our numerous visits here we have always recieved excellent medical care ...the entire staff is friendly, kind, attentive, highly skilled, knowledgeable and professional.
The Nurse Practitioner diagnosed my situation perfectly. I have reached out to my cardiologist to follow up and I am receiving excellent care and advice because of her correct diagnosis. Thank you!!
Had a painful eye infection and my regular Dr. didn’t have any appointments for days. Was able to get right in and the front desk person was very friendly and empathic even though I had to bring both my kids with me. Nurses were lovely and the Dr. was great too. Got the eye drops I needed to start recovering so I could get back to life pain free and open my eye. Thank you all.
Me and my son went to Hartford HealthCare-Go Health Urgent Care in Avon. The staff was friendly and efficient, the nurses and PAs Eric and Jennifer were very kind, patient and so much caring.we really appreciate their help and service.
Dr.Carolan was so kind and efficient. I had fallen and had several deep wounds that needed cleaning of grass and dirt. It was very painful but she was as gentle as possible when she debrided them. I was started on antibiotic and given referral to the wound clinic.
Went to Hartford Healthcare in Avon because its close to us and the one we use if theres a health issue , I got stung by a bee and started having an anaphylactic shock which I never heard of. When I got there I went up to the desk and was having trouble talking while trying to explain what happened , they brought me in a room right away and gave me some medications but things were getting worse so they called 911 and I was taken the the hospital immediately. Because of them knowing what was happening I was given top priority and brought to the hospital immediately and treated. Never had an allergic reaction from bee stings in the past , just glad they were there and recognized the situation so fast because things couldve turned out very bad according to the emergency room Dr. She said people can die from a bee sting and I came very close to having narcam used on me , thanks again for the fast response and I definitely recommend this Walk In clinic. Like I said weve used them before for other reasons and theyve always taken good care of us.....
My son was sent to your walk in center because he was having asthma issues and a terrible cough and his primary provider could not see him. The provider who evaluated him listened to his lungs for just seconds and said he was clear. She did not look in his throat or his ears. She was very quick with him. She said to give him Tylenol and wanted to give him a inhaler that was not his rescue one I then stated his primary thought he may need presidone as in the past when he has a croup like cough that is usually the protocol for him. She then stated with him being on a stimulant that’s no good. I then explained he has not been on a stimulant in over a year . She left our room for a long time and I finally went out and asked her to take another listen because he was coughing worse . After fighting and advocating for my son she finally gave him the prednisone. She said he sounded clear no wheezing. Just a couple days later he was diagnosed with pneumonia. I feel she did not treat my son well. She was quick to observe him and fought me on giving him the medication he needed . If I went home with just tynenol and not the presidone with him having pneumonia he could be so much worse than he is now.
The medical care itself was excellent, however the overall experience could be improved. There was an electronic kiosk to check in on which I provided my name, email and phone number. It directed me to a website to complete my registration on my phone. That site required me to hand input a lot of information that Hartford Healthcare already has, including my contact information and insurance information. It then required me to take a photo of both my insurance card and my drivers license. (So now, HHC has my insurance information 3 times). When the reception called me she again required my insurance card and drivers license (the 4th time HHC is getting my insurance information). Thats annoying and a waste of time. In addition, there was no attempt to triage my situation when I arrived. It was only by accident that, after waiting for someone to talk to me, I noticed a sign posted near the entrance that instructed me to let the receptionist know if I was experiencing certain symptoms, one of which was the reason I was there. My point is that (a) the kiosk to sign in did not have this instruction, (b) the website did not have this instruction and (c) the receptionist never mentioned this instruction. It was only by chance that I saw this sign posted. Had I not noticed, I would have waited much longer and my situation could have turned worse. There should be some human interaction when a patient first arrives at a minimum to point out the instructions on the sign to let the receptionist know if a person is experience one of the specific symptoms, such as dizziness.
My visit went well, despite having gone to the wrong location first. I was 15 minutes late and they still took me in. The medical assistant was quick and courteous, which I appreciated.
Clean, inviting, friendly facility. Easy to make an appointment. Only a short wait at the office. APRN took her time and answered all my questions.
A BIG 10!!! From my arrival to the end of my visit, I felt valued as a patient. The front desk was efficient and pleasant. The med tech Zachary (I think) was equally pleasant, and thorough. I was comfortable. The attending was fantastic. She was quickly able to assess my situation and offer options to alleviate my symptoms. Everything worked out very well.
SIMARA WAS WONDERFUL KIND COMPASSIONATE PLEASE GIVE HER OR ANOTHER PROVIDER THE ABILITY TO REFER FOR ORTHOPEDIC CT SCAN WHEN INSTRUCTED BY THE RADIOLGIST GOING TO THE HOSPITAL SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING WHEN JEFFERSON RADIOLOGY EXISTS
My wife went to the Avon Hartford Healthcare Go Health urgent care 385 West Main Street Avon, CT 06001 on 05/08/2024 at approximately 10AM for a 1 inch superficial laceration in her eye brow. She was bleeding and needed help. The curly haired blond nurse told my wife she had to go to the Emergency Room. She didn’t even want to look at the problem. My wife had to go to John Dempsey Hospital which our copay goes from $15 to $250 when she goes to an ED. John Dempsey Hospital applied a little glue to the affected area and she was all better.I wasn’t there to argue for my wife. I spent 20 years steri stripping inmates in the CT DOC. I told her what to say next time a nurse railroads her out because they don’t want to do their job. I know staff try to get out of work; however, I’m furious with this nurse as I also have worked urgent care nurse for many years and I have never sent a client away without assessing him/her. She needs counseling from her supervisor. My wife really does need an apology.I driving back to CT this weekend and I will be contacting Hartford Healthcare administration when I arrive.
ZERO STARS - not 1Your doctor in the Avon office has all the bedside manner of a dead fish. When I told him I was certain I had a sinus infection and had been taking Claritin D without any relief he completely discounted my symptoms and told me it was viral. When I told him I could tell it wasnt a cold as he said and that I had screaming pain in my face and my eye was watering badly, he told me take Advil. I informed him that Advil gave me very bad reflux, and I was unable to take it. He then said well then take Tylenol. I told him that I also have G.I. issues when I take Tylenol. So his response was, and this is an absolute quote, then take nothing.Im not exaggerating. He told me to gargle with salt water, drink fluids, and use a warm compress. And he told me I could only come back if my symptoms persisted for 14 days. I told him that if I really did have a sinus infection in 14 days, I could be dead if the sinus infection goes to my brain.Of course, despite the fact I had zero symptoms of Covid, they insisted on taking a Covid test, which, of course was negative as I couldve told them. But that seems to be all you people care about these days. Heres a newsflash… There are illnesses that existed before Covid and there are illnesses that will exist after Covid. You need to treat those as well. That was on Sunday. By Tuesday I had a major event that I was speaking at and I woke up that morning with an eye that was completely swollen shut. It looked like I had been hit with a baseball. I could barely get it open. For the entire day it was tearing so badly that water was pouring out of it and a pus like substance coming out of it as well. It was completely bloodshot. I continued to have horrible pain and pressure around that eye and my face was also swollen. Im not one to rush off and get antibiotics ever. It was probably a decade ago that I had a sinus infection but I know the symptoms.By Wednesday I was so miserable - my face was swollen and my eyes were horrible. Fortunately I was able to get a virtual appointment with the APRN from my St. Francis primary office who told me I absolutely had a sinus infection and I was making it worse by taking Claritin D. (Something your doctor never told me)Fortunately she prescribed antibiotics and told me to take mucinex (not D) and by day two I am starting to feel better and the swelling is going down and pain is almost gone.I will never go back to a GoHealth office. Terrible, uncaring provider.
Very pleased with service and professionalism on the staff, especially the nurse who performed the treatment. My ear was cleaned out and back to normal.
The staff was friendly and efficient; ease of registration; I had an appointment and it was honored; the nurses and PAs were wonderful-kind, patient yet efficient, and caring.
This place has zero sense of urgency. They don’t honor reservations in a timely manner. They all just sit around in the office area doing lord knows what. They should really remove the word urgent from their name. It should be “we’ll get to you when we feel like it care”. If you have a choice, go elsewhere.
Staff warm and attentive to care. ( I went to Grant 1st which was scheduled to be open till 5pm ( it was 4 pm) and it was closed then had to travel 20 min to Avon!
Excellent support from the staff - the doctor and assistants. Clearly, a much better alternatives now a days than going to the full service - where it is impossible to get an appointment.
Care at GO Health Urgent care was excellent.Problem was diagnosed quickly and treatment was effective,
Maria was a wonderful caring provider who spent time explaining things to me. She was very thorough also. I am grateful for her help
I was happy I chose this facility. While an urgent care facility can be busy and attention by staff can be interrupted, I was still given a sense of best priority possible, and the care was exceptional.
Excellent care kind and very knowledgeable doctor. Lovely people working at Avon office
Ive been to this Urgent Care Center in Avon too many times over the past few years for various issues. I always find the staff to be thorough, efficient and friendly. Most importantly, I feel I am always getting a high quality of care. Also love that their registration and checkin process are online. So glad they are close by.
This was our 3rd experience going to Hartford- Go health in Avon and each time was great. Bonnie Simmons was the doctor that seen my daughter this time, she was excellent. Highly recommend this urgent care.
Dr Chana Rich and PA Marvin Czech worked seamlessly as a team and provided me with excellent care! My stay was under 4 hours and the staff and these two providers were compassionate, knowledgeable, and active listeners. Outstanding!
This was my first time at Hartford Healthcare. I registered online for an appointment which made things very easy when I got there. While there, everyone I had any interaction with was extremely kind and attentive.
I went to the clinic with a virus infection. There were lots of patients given the season. Staff was highly efficient and friendly. I was especially impressed by Dr Carolyn, who was thorough and took the time to ask about my medications for my other conditions. Solid recommendation.
I’ve been to this walk in clinic several times when my body decided to aggravate me in no uncertain terms.😐 And when that happens I’m seriously not a happy camper!🙁 The admitting staff have never failed to be pleasant. The doctors are patient and they listen. They examine my body, give recommendations (in the short term and the long term) and meds as needed. They hit the mark every time so far. So grateful this clinic is in my community. And, gladly recommend it to family and friends.⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent care. Friendly staff and very accommodating. Highly recommend this facility. Very positive experience
I got very good care from the NP and her assistant. I was in a lot of pain and discomfort and they were very kind and reassuring. No rushing just good medical care. Thank you both.
I was seen by Beverly Carolan, MD for cyclic vomiting on 1/22/24. This is my second time seeing her for this issue, and I remember last time she suggested it could be anxiety and had a fairly “hands off” approach, but this time my symptoms were lasting much longer and were much more intense.Carolan understood that patients with my symptoms are in “complete misery” yet did not give me any IV fluids or IV anti-nausea medication. She gave me a prescription of anti-nausea suppositories and explained if I was passing fluids I didn’t need any IV fluids. She also ran ZERO tests. No urine and no blood work.Well, needless to say my symptoms continued into the next day (so I had to miss a second day of work, which I never miss). I went to Hartford Hospital, where they took my blood and saw I had elevated pancreas enzymes and asked if I have ever had pancreatitis (which I have). They did not hesitate to give me IV fluids and IV anti-nausea meds.To make a long story short, I felt 100 times better after receiving the fluids. Within a few hours I was eating and drinking and fairly content. My point is, if you have any type of serious issue at all: avoid this place like the plague!
Extremely convenient and efficient urgent care facility. The staff were all great. Thank you!
The lady at reception was super patient, which was an awesome start to the experience. Then, the doctor was super knowledgable and seemed to know exactly the right move for my daughter. I left feeling like this urgent care is my local neighborhood healthcare provider. 😀
One of the worst experience in healthcare facility in my life. I am from Canada and visited US for a week to meet my family. My son was sick during this time. Was coughing a lot and had sleepless nights. So, thought to visit this urgent care and encountered a worst experience. We had an online appointment at 3.50 PM and reached there on time. Despite of that we had to wait for about 30 min to meet a nurse. She took us to a room and asked for the details. I shared all the details of what my son going through. Then she asked for COVID test and other testes to be done. Then she said she will send someone to consult. After waiting for about another 30 to 40 min, another Nurse Practitioner came and starts saying that She will not even look at my son until COVID and other tests are done. She didnt even see my son. Then we agreed for for tests and they took some samples. After wait of another 15 to 20 min, she comes back says that tests are negative and we are good to go back. She was not even ready to see and check my son and to understand what he is going through. We had to literally ask her to see him once, check if he has ear infection or something. Still she just didnt do anything and just asked us to walk out of the clinic. I had to cut down my stay in America and rush back to Canada to see a doctor. This whole episode took about 3 hours and interestingly there was no doctor in this facility. For this all this they charged me about USD 120. The tests cost extra for which I am yet to get the receipt.
Kim, the APRN, and Jasmine, the Medical Assistant, were a fantastic team. Both are so knowledgeable and thorough. They teamed to clean my wound and get it stitched up quickly. They instantly made me comfortable with their excellent bedside manners.
Short wait and was seen by a very skilled and thoughtful Physician. In and out in 30 min.
Honestly quite disgusted in the care here. I have had 3 viruses hit me over the course of 1 month. Each time progressively getting worse. This last bought saw me unable to stand, high fevers, extreme headaches, projectile vomit and diarrhea. I couldn’t even drive myself to the hospital. Today my fiance (who has been away for the past 5 days) took me to urgent care. I was all but dismissed, I told Dr. Carolan I was fairly certain my first 2 boughts were flu (my daughter had been hospitalized for flu a) the doctor proceeded under her breath that it probably was Covid. Then when I told her about this last round probably being Norovirus (was told this by a PA/er nurse family friend) she told me that all my levels were good I was well hydrated and just tired. Told me she wanted to take a blood test to test for my electrolyte levels, to then have the nurse go back to said dr bc she couldn’t do a draw because I’m so severely dehydrated. It’s ok though she has prescribed me muscle relaxers and a drs note for 3 days. They wonder why we don’t go to the drs and get tests for these viruses… between not being taken seriously , ridiculous scripts for nonsense medication it all seems like a money grab. Waste of time. Great doctoring Dr. Carolan
I went for an incredibly painful cyst on my lip. Sat in a room for 30 minutes by myself till a registered nurse came in, never lookes at me but derisively told me theres nothing we can do for you but heres a prescription for some antibiotics. When i asked if there was anything else they could do she chuckled that they dont do surgery in a manor that derided me for asking. Again never even looked at the issue. She never for within 4 feet of me, But had no issue telling me that not only could they not possibly help me but not referring me to anybody who could
Great to prebook and register online before arriving. No waiting and thorough care.
I went to the Urgent Care to have a ring removed from my pinky finger. I had developed a ganglion cyst and could not get the ring off. I had postponed doing it because I had a previous very uncomfortable removal of another ring. This time however, Dr Beverly Carolan removed the ring with ease and no pain or discomfort! I had no swelling or discomfort afterwards in contrast to the prior incident under a different doctor.
Super easy to get to at a very nice establishment the doctor I worked with was fantastic. Highly recommend.
The provider that treated me was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to listen to my concerns. I was very impressed with Dr Kurtzman. I was also impressed with how quickly I was checked in, brought to a treatment room, and seen by the physician. My appointment was at 5:50 pm and I was on my way home by 6:30 pm. I highly recommend GiHealth in Avon, CT.
Top notch knowledgable and caring staff. I have used this care location many times with the same positive results.
The medical assistant was very kind and got me some cold water . Her kindness made my tough day feel a lot better. The doctor was very thorough and I appreciate everyone who helped me today
Pardon the pun, but this is my Go To for an urgent care facility. GoHealth works for me every time!
My appointment on Sunday morning was carried out with the utmost professionalism and care. Dr. Krutzman answered all concerns and ordered tests to make a timely diagnosis and treatment plan. Excellent Clinic. Thank you!
All the staff was professional, pleasant and showed concerned for me. I arrived 30 minutes before closing on a Friday night and was treated immediately.
Everybody was extremely kind from the first moment I walked in. Dr. Kurtzman is an excellent doctor who is extremely competent!! He hears your concerns and really understands his patients with empathy and insightfulness!!! I can’t say enough wonderful things about go health in Avon CT!!
I got there 20 before my appointment. There were two people there before me. I checked in at the desk and paid for my visit but the young lady behind the desk forgot to actually make me as checked in I watch two other sets of people that showed up after my appointment time get checked in and seen them noticed my name on the board saying please check in so then she hit a button on the computer and I finally got seen after 1 1/2 hours of waiting. I wasnt impressed with the visit and I almost asked for my money back and cancelled the visit. Im on day 3 of the scripts that I was given and no change so hopefully it kicks in soon but then again they didnt check my throat or anything other then blood pressure and temperature and oxygen level everything else was just questions no actual exam.
Appointment ran right on time....from check in to end of visit everyone was very thorough and held a conversation ; I felt very at ease.
Provider Geneva was very helpful. She didn’t make me feel like a bother when I came back hours later to ask a question about my visit.
Walked in, to a very polite receptionist, who took care to explain the sign in process. Very clean. Very friendly. I only waited a few minutes. The doctor was kind and professional.. He listened to me before making a decision . I felt very comfortable. I definitely will recommend this location.
Went to HHC urgent care in Avon to be seen for a viral infection. The staff spent less than five minutes with me and told me that I should go to the emergency room where they would get test results faster. They took my blood pressure, listen to my heart, and measured my oxygen. For this five minutes of service, they billed my insurer $450.00 for which I must pay over two hundred. I thought that was outrageous. None of my Current doctors charge such exorbitant fees. If youre in need of urgent care, I would go somewhere else.7-23-23 Follow Up: I filled out their form 3 weeks ago and never got a response. In addition, I noticed on the bill that they claim to have spent between 45-59 minutes with me. That is a fabrication as they literally spent less than 5 minutes in the exam room with me. I have given this information to my insurer to see if they can flag this company in their system.
Staff at the facility were very pleasant and polite. They provided quick and efficient care. The environment was clean. The online registration process made the visit very convenient. MyChart is easy to access for results and visit notes.
Great staff! Brought my child in with server flu-like symptoms. We were seen quickly after check in. Tests were done to narrow down the issue. Everyone was friendly and efficient. Most importantly, My child felt comfortable given the circumstances.
Made an online appointment - waited no more than 5 minutes when I got there and was in and out the door very quickly.
Had an 8 a.m. appointment at Urgent Care this morning. The woman who checked me in at the front desk was very nice as was the young lady who brought me to the exam room and took my vitals. If it were just for them I wouldnt be leaving this review though. My PA today was Risa Budoff. She was beyond incredible. She was extremely thorough, communicated everything that was and could happen and had the best bedside manner I have had since moving to CT in 2016. Unfortunately my visit required me to be sent to the ER. 3 hours after being admitted into the hospital she called to check on us and had been watching what was going on from afar. What UrgentCare PA does that?? Thank you so much Risa for making the right decisions to make me feel better FINALLY!
Staff very pleasant. Physician very thorough & took the time to answer my questions & explain her diagnosis & plan of care.
Terrible experience. I came with a 2 year old for a UTI to be seen by a doctor . I had my appt at 10am they called us in at 10:15am. Took my daughter’s vitals and we waited until 10:35 doctor never came. At the end when I approached politely front desk to let them know we can’t wait for a long time they told us then go to a different urgent care we can’t help you. Doctor was sitting on the computer watching and smiling. Very unprofessional staff
This is a gem of a place! The staff is ideal! From the check in person to nurse to doctor everyone is respectful, kind and intelligent. I made an appointment ahead of time so the wait was minimal. I appreciated my quick diagnosis of Lyme’s Disease as well as careful directions about possible issues with the medication. I highly recommend this facility. I’ve had a number of friends have excellent experiences here as well.
I cant count the number of times the staff here has gone above and beyond to help patients. The level of service is amazing here. Its nice to know this place is here because Ive had some awful experiences in the ER and dont like going if I dont have too. Love this staff.
Went in with sore throat; swab showed no strep; not too much could be done but live it out.
Dr. Blaise was the best. He showed he really cared.
Unfriendly and rude receptionist and not only but it gets worse because in order to be seen by a doctor they had to have my credit card on file because according to that rude woman their system wasn’t able to verify my insurance card and they can charge my card if there was an issue with my insurance I found that very because first off I use my card everywhere and I even used it with them before but I had to give her a credit card so I can be seen by a doctor.I have a Question here what if the patient didn’t own a credit card or didn’t have one on them and it’s called urgent care how sarcastic is that !!!!! This is so unethical , no wonder we have a huge health problem in our country!
The receptionist was very nice and helpful. The wait time was ridiculous. After waiting in the exam room forever the doctor came in for literly 30 Second said I need xrays even though she thought they were not needed. They took the xrays and left me in the room for another half hour. I got the xray results emailed to me before she even came back in the room. I finally got up and left in extreme pain and nothing was resolved. What a waste of two hours.
I always prefer to go to GoHealth in Avon as it is so easy to make an appointment online and all my family gets quick and professional medical care anytime we need it!
Staff was great. I showed up without an appointment at 7am on a Saturday after a holiday. There were several people trying to sign in at once and they got us all taken care of. I was there for an injury and I was in and out in an hour. Its been several years since I had to utilize urgent care. I love the portable X-ray!
Great Dr and staff. Didnt have to wait long to be seen. Everything explained ahead of procedures. Clean and friendly place.
Lois-Ann Lovelace PA is extremely rude. She just kept talking to put me down and refused to listen to anything I said. She saw me 1h after the scheduled time, as soon as she heard the reason for my visit, she just went on a rant putting me down. When I tried to interrupt to explain the reason for my visit, she yelled at me saying i have to listen to her. She said she cannot do anything for me and even if I come in person, nothing can be done from either diagnostic nor treatment standpoint. If i came in person, it would be solely for her to take a look. What is the point. And then she wrote a note full of lies to document the visit. Please avoid at all cost.
They were awesome and great care from a awesome team! Every time that I go or one of my family members go they are always treated like family.😊
Incredibly useless check in process. They thought that a 7 hour wait time was acceptable as a walk in (when the lobby and exam rooms were empty). The woman carol at the front desk was incredibly rude to me and other people waiting - just extremely combative for no reason whatsoever. The staff is great once you get past carol and her monumental efforts to make you suffer and wait for as long as possible.
Urgent care is good service; u don’t have to wait for your appointment; just walk in. But I don’t like the payment system. My chart plus has my bill there but no option to pay online, so I called to pay bill online& wanted to speak to representative but they kept transfer to different of representatives and no one can help my bill question. My copay is $50 but every time I go to Urgent care; they don’t take my copay. They said my issuance will bill me but it has been over 3 months, but I haven’t received any bill yet while my plus chart still saying I’m owed money. Urgent Care should update the site so patients can pay bill easier. I visited Urgent care twice, so I owed $100 but I paid $50 couple of days ago and when I called pay bill on phone again; it still saying I owed $100. Thanks!
I liked the ease of making the appointment and I thought the medical staff was very attentive. I was seen in a timely manner and appreciated the attention to detail regarding my symptoms.
Ive had good experiences here. The medical staff really listened, the process was efficient and the wait time was short. I would recommend making an appointment online.
A potentially life threatening situation was resolved quickly and professionally. Many thanks.Marc
I went for a Covid test the day before Thanksgiving which was very busy. They said it would be a 2 hour wait and I waited in my car. I checked my status from time to time and the appointment continued to be pushed out further. When my time finally arrived, I did not receive any notification (I was told they would text me) so I went in and they had already taken the person after me.The woman who was behind the desk was unfriendly and rude. I’m trying to be patient as I know the health care workers are under a lot of stress but simple human kindness would have been nice.Once I was finally seen, the nurse was also gruff, but they did my test and the doctor I spoke with was very pleasant. I think I will try a different facility next time.
Got in and out quickly. I like that you can make an appointment yet I didn’t need one. I was seen shortly after I walked in without an appointment
Took me right away and remedied my situation very professionally and quickly. Feeling much better!
The Staff and Physician were excellent. Clean facility. Extremely timely for an urgent care visit. Very good service and welcoming attitudes as well. I highly recommend this facility for your urgent care medical needs.
I was treated quickly and professionally, and all my questions were answered.
With a possible temperature, constant coughing, and chest congestion, I walked into Hartford HeathCare GoHealth clinic in Avon, where I was seen within 3 minutes by friendly, knowledgeable, and professional staff members.Because the X-ray equipment was not working, staff sent me to Jefferson Radiology down the street where I was seen immediately even though they were closing the x-Ray procedures in 15 minutes. All went well.I have received excellent care at this GoHealth walk- in during other times within the past year. It is highly recommended. Cindi of Avon, CT
Professional, extremely knowledgeable and thorough in their assessment of my situation.
Staff was friendly, Dr was thorough, and extremely pleasant. The check in was fast and efficient and by far the best walk in I have ever been to. Will definitely recommend and use in the future. Thank you for a good experience when my daughter wasnt feeling well!!!
I needed to visit GoHealth and recently was seen by Dr. Kurtzman... simply said, hes the best. Friendly, professional, knowledgeable, he makes me feel like an equal partner in my healthcare rather than being on a pedestal. And its readily apparent that he has a passion for what he does. Thank you!
You have a wonderful & caring staff. Thank you
I felt very rushed, and didn’t feel the provider listened to what my actual complaint was. My actual time with the doctor felt like five minutes. I work in Healthcare myself, and see so many patients on a 12 hour shift I try and make time for every patient no matter how busy I am. It never feels good to not be heard or rushed especially when I know my patients are stressed and sick.
I was in and out quickly but most of all everyone was kind.
Everything was very efficient. Mostly, I was quite impressed with the professionalism, knowledge and confidence of, and personalized communication from Beth A Dean, PA. She was excellent during the evaluation, explanation, and educating me in order to decide on a plan. I left feeling comfortable, and knowledgeable about my condition. And, a follow-up phone call a day or so later from the clinic was comforting.
Short wait, funny nurse great Dr. Although I cant remember her name at the moment and cant really move so well as to get the paperwork,Id request her again! Even the desk receptionist was amazing!!!
I arrived at your facility for a rapid test around 1pm. After I registered they told me it would be about a 3 hour wait. My friend went in after me about 45 minutes later for the same test, was registered and tested in under 15 minutes. I went back in right after her and they took me right in. I was really confused and not sure how this happened. It seemed like there was no rhyme or reason to how they were taking patients. Also, the man at the front desk was extremely unprofessional. While he was admitting me he was speaking with his coworker about a call that came in. The caller was looking for information about another patient. The employee was speaking negatively about the caller in front of everyone that was waiting and was being very rude.
I went in for help with a cyst on my hand and they charged me $50 had me wait three hours to say they couldnt help me.
Thank you for the excellent care you gave me while I visited the area. I recently had a melanoma removed and needed to get stitches out. Your staff was welcoming, professional, patient and kind. The doctor was wonderful too. Efficient, but very warm and patient.. She went out of her way to make my experience a positive one, and I applaud her!
I made an appt and waited briefly. I was in a room and they checked her temp etc. her doctor was a physician Assistant. I believe Emily? She was amazing !! She checked Madeline very closely. Told me she is there till 8pm if anything changes. I felt so comfortable. In an emergency I will absolutely drive 40 min away to go here !!
Was experiencing a continued cough and occasional vertigo 4 weeks after being diagnosed with Covid. Wanted to ensure there wasn’t a secondary issue happening with my lungs. I made an online appointment the night before. I was in and out in 15mins. The receptionist, staff who obtained my vitals, and physician were all extremely pleasant. Scripts were sent to my local pharmacy. This Was my second great experience with Hartford Healthcare’s Go Health Urgent Care Center.
On Thursday, August 18 at 9:15 a.m. at the HH Avon location I received excellent care! The Med Tec and APRN who treated my severe case of poison ivy were super great! Very professional and friendly. The APRN was knowledgeable about my symptoms and took the time to explain the medical action plan and how my situation would likely resolve with RXs over the next 15 days. I booked the appointment through the online portal which was easy to do and got me in right on time, about a 10 minute wait.I do recommend this facility and provider, wholeheartedly! Thanks😊
The provider I had was excellent!!! Took time to explain everything to me and was very respectful and extremely personable.
Went in for unscheduled appt this past Sunday for upper and lower respiratory congestion. Greeted by receptionist who was abrupt even though I was friendly. Waited 45 min then went into exam room. Waited another 10 min. APRN very pleasant. Not sure what my diagnosis was but did get prescriptions for 3 meds to manage symptoms. Did not receive written instructions from visit including inhaler use (as first time user). Patients need a clear diagnosis, education and written visit summary following each visit. I do appreciate what health care providers endured throughout the pandemic and believe the healthcare system is still dealing with the ongoing stress, resulting in transactional care (vs. transformational care)
Ease of booking online, friendly and knowledgeable staff, comfortable setting and accessibility from my home.
Five days post exposure to Covid we had five negative home Covid tests. So requested a PCR to confirm our status. Staff were friendly, helpful, PA was very knowledgeable. Thanks for the great service!
Never again. My son sustained a head injury at camp and this was our first visit to this Urgent Care (Avon). While my son was anxious and hurt and lying on the patient bed in the exam room, I was attempting to take a picture of his injury to share with my husband who was out of town and on the phone at the time (nothing else in picture). In a completely inappropriate, disrespectful, and condescending tone, the doctor admonished me, raised her voice saying I was prohibited from taking the picture since she was in the room. Of course, this made my son even more anxious. And, nobody provided any information to me about this prohibition whatsoever when we arrived or at any point thereafter. The doctor then attempted to speak with me about my sons condition privately, just outside the door, but my son told me when I went back into exam room that he could hear everything she said. Then when she went back in the exam room, the doctor essentially interrogated my son (age 9) about why he seemed upset. She said some of the right child-friendly things she obviously learned in some training but she was not sincere and sounded totally rehearsed. Hes a smart kiddo and I could easily tell she was making him even more uncomfortable. I will never bring my kids there again. The doctor had the worst bedside manner and needs way more training. After she told me all the tools she does not have to treat my son or make him comfortable (he ended up needing 5 stitches), I told her I was going to take him to the Childrens Medical Center in Hartford. She then wanted me to give her all the reasons why I was taking him somewhere else. Way to prioritize in an emergency...In the car,, my son said, Mom that doctor was so rude to you. Here he is, scared about his forehead and smashed little nose, and hes still thinking about the doctors misbehavior. Anyway, the staff at Childrens Medical Center were amazing. They were kind, competent, respectful, and truly invested in me and my son. They made my son so comfortable and even showed a movie during the stitches! He and his brother also enjoyed popsicles. I hope we dont have more emergencies but if I do, Im never bringing my kids to Avon Urgent Care again.
Brought my son to this urgent care last week and we were seen by a very dismissive seemingly burned out nurse practitioner. My son is 9. She seemed to want to minimize what was going on with him and rush us out.His condition later became worse and we ended up at CCMC. I do not recallHer name but she had blonde curly hair
Long wait with an appointment and the girl at the front desk asked me if I wanted to reschedule when I was already there and had taken time off of work to be there. The doctor said I didn’t have an ear infection, but prescribed antibiotic ear drops, which didn’t work. The doctor also didn’t look in my nose even though I was having sinus pain. Sinus pain continued and my PCP prescribed azithromycin a few days after my urgent care visit, which helped with the sinus pressure. Two weeks after my Go Health visit in Avon, I woke up with significantly worse pressure and pain in my ear today. Then my ear started bleeding this morning. I went to Go Health in Corbin’s Corner near Shake Shack and I was in and out in 20 minutes. The PA was incredibly helpful. He said I have an ear infection and a ruptured ear drum. I believe I wouldn’t have had a ruptured ear drum if the MD at Avon Go Health had diagnosed and treated me appropriately two weeks ago. I will only be going to Go Health in Corbin’s Corner going forward and recommend everyone stay away from the Avon Go Health. They are terrible.
Signing up prior to going was efficient and easy. My estimated time I was to be seen was 6:52 and I believe I was speaking to a nurse in an examining room, prior to 6:52. The nurse and the PA were both very nice, patient, engaging, very willing to answer all and any of my questions, and knowledgeable. A great experience with everyone.
I scheduled ahead and I had a minimal wait time. The providers really listened and cared about me as a patient. I highly recommend.
I recently became ill and after 4 days gave up and went to Hartford Health Urgent Care in Avon. As a walk in I was concerned as to whether I would have a long wait but was called within minutes to the front desk to show ID and insurance info and only had to wait another 6 or 7 minutes before being told which room to go into.Everyone I encountered was very courteous and professional and I was out of there within a very reasonable time. Would not hesitate, if I find I am under the weather again when my doctor isnt available, to visit this location.
Very friendly staff. Very pleased with the service. Quick, efficient and high tech. I made an appointment the night before online and was seen on time. The health care providers took great care of me. They called me throughout the week to make sure I was doing well. Thank you for your great service and your dedication.
Saved our spot online for having my sick, coughing child seen. Arrived 20 min before our appointment. Watched 5 walk ins be taken before us including 45 minutes after my scheduled “appointment “ time with a sick fussy 3 year old. Front desk person did not care and had minimal response when I asked why we kept getting bumped down. Don’t bother saving your spot. Won’t go back there again. I work in healthcare and understand the staffing strain but this was just ridiculous.
Like most people, I recently went to GoHealth for COVID testing, and did not have an appointment. I got there at 7:40 and stood in line. They opened at 8 and took people with scheduled appointments and a few walk ins. It was explained to us early on that they were having problems with their computer system and so we could not sign up for their wait in line option. Also, they were transparent that one of the providers was running late so they were already experiencing delays. Within 15 minutes of us waiting, a nurse came out with an iPad and took our information for the wait in line option. They text you when your wait time is about 30 minutes. I went home and got a text after a 2 hour wait. They try really hard to keep the waiting room clear but its impossible with people walking in to register, to sign up for wait in line, and to ask questions. The front staff were visibly overwhelmed but triaged quickly and were polite.Once I checked in after receiving the text, I was seen within a few minutes and was out within the hour. For COVID testing, I was given instructions for self swabbing (PCR) and then was seen by a provider. Everyone was really kind, professional, and calm. Dr. Peter was friendly, very personable, and made time for small talk during my short visit which was really above and beyond.I recommend GoHealth. It is clean, the staff is great, and receiving a text sure beats standing outside for hours.
Used this clinic once before and had a good experience. This time I brought my 5 year old. Booked a appt in advance, went on time and checked in, however I was told to go wait outside because they were too many people coming in. Explained i have a appt, my child has a fever and its way to cold outside giving that we were dropped off and couldnt go wait in the car. So I had to go outside and wait in the cold with a sick crying child. 30 min went by I called the front desk and went inside to wait another 30 minutes. So my question is whats the purpose of making a appt if you have to wait over 1 hr to be seen? Anyways...the Dr and staff that saw us were really nice and helpful. I just wish we didnt have the bad experience of waiting outside in frigid cold weather
Looked online to make an appointment and the website showed a 48 minute walkin wait. So I went down to the clinic to get my covid test and registered as a walkin. The lady at the desk told me to wait in my car, which I did. When I registered after my checkin, the registration said it would be more like a 2 hour wait. So I waited an hour and went in and asked the receptionist what the wait would be like as I had my dog in the car and was going to bring her home. She told me it wouldnt be long at all she was entering in the registrations now and I should be called soon.Another hour goes by and she says to me your next - I told her I had wished she told me to take my dog home because I had been waiting for 2 hours now. Her manager jumped up from her desk and told in a loud voice not to talk to her staff that way, we exchanged comments she interrupted me while talking down to me, I told her I would wait. Finally get in and get test, waiting more after the test for a physician to visit me, which she did after almost 10 minutes and said OK goodby. The absolute WORST treatment I have ever gotten at a medical facility, I will not be going back and I will be telling people to avoid this place. To be clear, the lady at the reception was fine, it was her manager that lost her cool and decided that she could treat people like they were below her, I was shocked.
The staff were very nice and the place was clean and even without an appt I was seen fairly quickly. The diagnosis I received was correct however the provider who came to see me didn’t introduce herself and clearly didn’t look carefully at my information. Didn’t give me a lot of confidence from the start.
Very nice experience receiving a walk in flu shot. The doctor administrating the injection had very gentle hands.
We have always had a great experience at this clinic. Weve used them for sports physicals, urgent care needs, and immunizations when we first relocated here and didnt yet have a family physician. Staff are always friendly, knowledgeable, and go above and beyond to help. Went here for flu shots and were more than willing to pay the $20 fee since our experiences have always been so positive here versus a somewhat negative experience at the minute clinic across the street.
I took my wife here to get checked out at this facility for dizziness & headaches. Check in was fine, nurse was very nice getting all the info from my wife. Doctor comes in ask the same questions the nurse did & says there nothing she can do for my wife & recommended that we go to the emergency room because they dont do lab work or anything related to my wifes problem. ( My primary physician did send me here to get test done which their website clearly says, they are also to blame. ) Im just very upset with the doctors attitude, I think she could have done at least a recommendation for a referral or at least show concern or take a look at my wife or something. If you wanna come to this urgent care location so they can take your money & then tell you to go see a real doctor at uconn emergency room then this is they place for you..
The staff themselves are very nice people but... i went there to request a blood screening i told them i was too dehydrated to get blood drawn they gave me a paper to go elsewhere and i went to quest diagnostics a few days later and paid out of pocket for my blood screening. go health urgent care then also charged me 253$ for drawing my blood when calling the billing department i asked 3 employees about the false charge i would be put on hold and the call would keep disconnecting frustrated for a fourth time calling back about the false charge to my account i was informed that i wasnt allowed to speak to a supervisor and that they can legally charge my account for what ever i want. i requested a itemized receipt and wasnt given and info the guy i spoke with stated we can only submit a ticket to his supervisor to get the bill dismissed. this never happened two weeks later im writing a review do not sign there sign in or give them your card information they will charge you falsely. they stated the charge was because my blue cross blue shield didnt cover a blood screening that they never even performed... i called my insurance they stated that everything if it was processed through them would be covered ive had the same insurance for over ten years. never have paid a dime out of pocket for any co pay or something that isnt covered under my insurance. total scam if i could give this place a 0 out of 5 theyd get -5 stars. would highly recommend going elsewhere.
The two days I was wanting to be seen I saw some quite rude and disrespectful behavior towards patients who were waiting to be seen. Those patients were ignored, put off, or, in my case refused treatment because there was only 30 minutes left to see people. Definitely a holier-than-thou attitude. On the other hand, many of the staff are terrific. Professional kind, and excellent in their approaches to patients.
Went for COVID testing. They handled the long line in an organized and professional way, by scheduling people to come back later that day. Yes, they did turn away folks at the end of the line, but could not reasonably see everyone. When we returned later that day, they saw us within a half hour. Given the surge and woeful availability of testing everywhere, we felt grateful to be tested that day. The staff was very helpful and professional!
My two visits were fine. Both times I want to make this very clear. When I had my cut I waited over an hour to get stitches put in. When went to go get the stitches taken out I waited over an hour again. The nurses and doctors I dealt with did excellent jobs. But the wait is an inexcusable. Especially when there’s hardly anybody in line.
I rated this place 5 stars 2 years ago, however, like most things nowadays the quality of care was terrible. First of all, Im a clinically practicing PA with 18 years of internal medicine and urgent care experience so I understand the pressure and stress the staff is under. I scheduled an appointment for an acute illness and they seemed put off that I wasnt there for COVID testing. The provider I saw kept interrupting me when I was trying to provide an accurate history and seemed less than interested. Waste of time and a copay. I wouldve been better off self-prescribing, but I avoid doing so as I feel that is unethical. I never fill out the Press-Ganey patient satisfaction surveys, but I look forward to receiving this one and hopefully speaking to someone who can help make things better for patients. Again, I realize these are tough times for everyone, but a little compassion goes a long way.
They were wonderful! The clinic was clean and plenty of covid precautions were actively in place. These are very tough times for those in the medical field and despite some extremely rude patients in the waiting room, the entire staff maintained a positive and helpful attitude. I highly recommend this center and will definitely return myself if need be.
It would be helpful to have a simple sandwich board outside with instructions for the waiting process. It was confusing for each person that arrived and disruptive for the person trying to process the arrivals to keep explaining. Most people wanted to accommodate they just didn’t know.I arrived early (5-7mins); texted ‘here’ as instructed; after waiting 20 minutes I also interrupted the rather harried person at the front desk. After making it known a couple of times, that I had another appointment, I was processed 25+mins late. I moved out my other appointment by twenty minutes and still barely made it on time. The test I was there for was smooth and easy and the nurse was accommodating. No issues.
Went in last night and couldnt be seen because I didnt have an appt. I was in pain and my finger was swollen. Isnt the point of an urgent care for you to be able to walk in without appt and be seen? This is the second time I waste my time going here. Not making that mistake again. Done with this place.
While the staff was kind and polite, I feel their concern was more about it being less than an hour till close and getting us out.Even though we repeatedly told them my issue was an injury, the blew off what we were saying and hugely misdiagnosed it as a simple tendinitis type issue. They also refused to do anything to secure or support it.We ended up having to go to an emergency room. Good thing we did because the injury (once properly diagnosed) needed to be immediately tended to and braced. Further damage would have been a major issue that likely would have required surgery if we had taken their word and left it alone.I almost feel bad for the review as they were all very nice but this was a serious matter. It should have been treated as such, and we should have gotten the respect of being listened to.
Friendly and efficient staff. Clean, modern, welcoming environment. The doctor who treated me had the perfect mix of warmth, approachability and professionalism. On a late Saturday morning, I was in and out of there with my issue resolved in less than 30 minutes. Very positive experience.
Helpful advice, but it was disappointing to have to wait 35 minutes for the nurse after 15 minutes of check-in and note-taking, despite an appointment time 45 minutes earlier.
Made an appointment online, showed up 10min early as requested. The woman at the front desk told me they were behind and that I needed to check in & then wait in my car. There were two other people in the lobby so I found this odd & my husband had dropped me off so I had no vehicle to sit in. I sat down in a chair that was more than 10 feet away from anyone else in the waiting area, she then told me to leave and go sit in my car. I asked, politely, ‘do I have to?’ She said ‘well, we are crowded’ I explained nicely, ‘Well the problem is my husband dropped me off so I don’t have a vehicle to sit in’. She then just went back to typing on her computer, no acknowledgement. One of the other people in the waiting area made eye contact with me and shook her head at me empathetically like how mean and inconsiderate. I have a UTI, Im uncomfortable, I made an appt, showed up early, wore a mask etc. It is not ok to treat people poorly that are in a vulnerable position, sick, not feeling well etc. I ended up calling my husband to come back to get me because I felt so uncomfortable. This is really not ok.
On 08/21/21 asked the front desk if the facility was capable of seeing an 8 year old. Followed up with if they had x-ray capability. The answer was yes.Once checked inn my daughter did not receive an x-ray which was the purpose of the visit to rule out a fracture. It was recommended we go the Emergency Department. The provider APRN-Riley never even touch my daughters arm where she stated it was hurting.
The doctors on call are incredibly condescending or do not know what they are talking about. Brought my friend in who was coughing up black mucus, was told it was allergies and was given an attitude when challenged the opinion of the doctor, as if I was a clueless child. We went to a different urgent care the day after and my friend was diagnosed with walking pneumonia, got an x-ray, and was put on antibiotics immediately. The exact same sickness the doctor laughed in my face for bringing up was the sickness she had. Very disappointing.
Upon arriving I was greeted by the Receptionist.Who told me I would be going to an examination room soon. Within 15 minutes I was in the exam room. The staff members were kind an efficient at doing there jobs.I highly recommend HHC-Go health an that’s why I gave them 5 Stars!
I wish I could hug or tip the staff! Everyone was so wonderful - Ive already recommended the clinic to several people. I went in very nervous and everyone did a fantastic job at keeping my anxiety level down. True an amazing experience, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you do!
Friendly courteous checkin. Was seen within 10 min of arriving. Nursing staff was friendly and thorough and the practitioners were knowledgeable and very helpful. Follow up calls with test results were prompt. Thanks for the great experience.
A few times now I have visited Gohealth in Avon by making an appointment online. Each time I wasnt seen by a provider till 45-50 minutes past my scheduled appointment and on all of these occasions this place was not busy with patients. When the provider finally came in she wasnt pleasant in anyway and didnt apologize for the wait. This last time was my last time going there!
I was at GoHealth Avon for a poison ivy rash. It came highly recommended to me by family and friends in the area as I was not sure where to go having just moved here. All of the staff was very polite, responsive and caring.Wait time was minimal. Easy check in process and loved that I could reserve a spot online.Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the area.
Didn’t wait long. Clean waiting area and examination room. Social distancing was very politely enforced . Saw an actual doctor on a holiday weekend AND had X-rays taken right in that same office. Great experience
Terrible doctor, rude, impatient, didn’t care to even test any issues, didn’t even touch my body to see where things could be going wrong, or a frame of reference for a different more competent doctor at the ER to help with a diagnosis. Will never go here again, and I’d advise anyone to do the same.
Everyone at GoHealth Avon treated me kindly as well as professionally. There was no paperwork or bureaucracy or delay. Dr. Jason Kurtzman gave me his full attention, explained his actions, and answered all my questions. Patients arrive at urgent care centers in pain, distress, or trauma. They need prompt attention, calm, and compassion. Evidently GoHealth Avon understands this. Bravo!
Too long a wait to see a doc. I had to wait over one hour in the waiting area and then spend more time waiting in the exam room (on a Tuesday morning).
The Go-Health facility in Avon was immaculate; seating was well spaced. I had an appointment & was taken several minutes after my appointment time. I needed a rapid COVID test, & the person who instructed me on the method was thorough, professional, & clear. I was called within 15 minutes with my results. Excellent care & service.
Was attended to promptly. Personable staff. Clear communication.
I’ve been here 3 times now in the past few months and I’ve had multiple instances of doctors being short and unprofessional with me. I recently went in today and before I could even greet the doctor she immediately got snappy and didn’t let me explain my whole situation before giving me instructions and pushing me out the door. There’s plenty of great employees and in no means is everyone here bad but a little professionalism goes a long way.
Dr. Kurtzman was very knowledgable and focused quickly in on what as wrong with me. I needed an emergency appendectomy and he directed me to the best hospital. Without his expertise I would have had a medical emergency far from home. I highly recommend this facility to anyone in need.
I was in denial that I was sick for an entire week and allowed my cold to become a pretty painful sinus infection. I decided to do a quick search of places near by because I knew I needed to see a doctor but I had to get to work by 10:00. The health center came up and was really close by so I went! The staff is incredible, super friendly and sweet. The doctor was in the room in no time and was able to detect my issue promptly. I was able to get out fast and fest extreme positive about my visit. I wont go anywhere else for myself or my family now that I know that this incredible place is so close by!Its places like this that give me hope for the future of medicine!
Staff (from front desk to nurse, dr, everyone) was friendly even though we went in less than an hour from close. The service was expedient. Facility was clean. X-ray machine came to the room. Medical record chart viewed on large screen in private room making it easy to review and confirm info. Very pleased.
Very pleased with my experience at The Urgent Care in Avon. Very easy to make an appointment on line and check in before arriving. Was seen in a timely fashion and was treated with concern snd respect. I would definitely recommend this facility.
Worst experience ever. Long story short it felt as though they didn’t even want us there and were trying to push us off on the emergency room. I thought perhaps miscommunication on our part and tried to explain the symptoms better and they seemed as though the didn’t want to hear it and ignored everything we said, just kept saying they couldn’t help and we need to go to the e.r. We went to a different walk in and were seen immediately, was diagnosed as a sinus infection and were told the e.r. Would have been extremely unnecessary!
I made an appointment for 12:50, then arrived at 12:40 to check in and was told that it would be 25-30 min. I went back in to check on my status at 1:45 and was then told it would be ‘a while longer’… I then received a text at 2:20 to come in for my appointment. Not a great experience with the scheduling process… if you take appointments either stick to the schedule or communicate clearly regarding delays.
Excellent experience. They take the time to listen to the patient and then they thoroughly explain their findings. Very clean environment and cordial, professional staff.
I brought my mother into HHC ‘ Go Health’ urgent care to see if she had a urinary tract infection. They assigned us to nurse practitioner Alison K Riley. From the moment this woman walked in the exam room, she started screaming at us. I was in total shock. She was irrational, very poorly behaved, condescending, and her recommendation to take my mother to the emergency room made absolutely no sense at all. More than likely, my mother is simply dehydrated. But the nurse practitioner never even considered this. She was making demands, without ever checking my mother out or reviewing her history. I honestly don’t believe this person was in her right mind, and I highly recommend NOT using her. Because of the horrible experience of seeing nurse practitioner Alison Riley, we will NEVER use Hartford Healthcare ‘Go Health Urgent Care’ ever again. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible!!!
This place is a disaster. After notifying us that they would be able to see us at 8AM the next day, and us arriving 30 minutes early, they both opened the clinic 15 minutes late and noted they would not be able to see us. If they had opened timely, they could have seen my children, as what we needed would have taken less than 5 minutes. Terrible administration, and terrible customer service.
The physician I saw was knowledgeable and gave me important information plus a prescription for something to stop me from coughing that has worked very well.
Every experience has been quick and informative. Not many walk-in facilities can treat children but bring able to treat all ages makes it our go-to location. Also, every staff member had great attitudes, including the medical assistants who were extremely child friendly and sensitive to their needs!
At Go Health in Avon the hours of the facility are posted on the door as Mon - Fri 8:00am-8:00pm. On Tuesday 1/11/22, I was standing outside in line at 7:00am. A women pulled into the parking lot at 7:55am, she then approached the main entrance and addressed everyone in line and introduced herself as the “person in charge”, and later to be identified as “Beth.” Beth recommended we waited in our cars as she didn’t plan on opening the doors until “at least 8:05am.” Why is it that this “person in charge” is showing up just 5 minutes before opening? I stayed in line as I’ve been there for over an hour waiting, and didn’t want to lose my spot in line. It was then 8:03am and as I was still standing outside in line. Along with everyone else in line, we were peering into the office lobby through the windows, while still outside standing in the freezing 22 degree weather. We were able to see all the nurses and staff standing around talking and laughing at the front desk, looking at us and then turning their backs when they saw us looking in, while only one person was wiping down the counter tops as she appeared to be cleaning. This was all happening past the listed 8:00am opening time, when supposedly the facility should be open as listed, during a pandemic, as a healthcare provider...Seems as if there was little to zero preparation for the day provided on the part of Go Health Avon. At 8:08am the lights were turned on but the front door wasn’t unlocked until 8:11am. As the doors opened and I was greeted by another woman who was fumbling an iPad in her hands and just couldn’t get herself together. She also visually appeared to be very aggravated, and as if she was in a rush. I was the first person in line and checked in first for the day, but the 4th one be seen? To go along with that, everyone else in line behind me was also a walk in. This was a horribly embarrassing show of professionalism on behalf of GoHealth Avon. As one of those first responders myself, I have nothing but respect and gratitude for all of the other first responders and health care staff who are putting themselves at risk of exposure while tending to others, but this was the very first time I felt significantly mistreated from any medical professional organization, ever.
I am usually very happy with this practice. However on 9/11 I was seen for abdominal pain that I had been experiencing going on a week at that point. I tell the dr or NP that I have GI issues at times and I really thought a certain medicine I used to take would suffice of process of elimination since earlier in the week I was tested and cleared of a UTI. So having abdomen pain of course the person pressed on my abdomen. The right side was sensitive but not painful, the left side not so much at that time. She said you’re gonna have to go to the ER. Citing a possible appendix issues. I knew with out the fever, throwing up and my appetite was seemingly unaffected. That it wasn’t my appendix. I complied against my better judgement and went only to waste four hours of my Saturday at the Er for nothing … they said that walk ins tend to go overboard at times. I understand better safe than sorry. But it also pays to listen to the patient better. Because now I’ve wasted all that time and I’m still in pain. 🤦🏻♀️
I can’t thank everyone at GO Health enough for the ease and uncomplicated process of getting tested and getting results from our Covid Test. Everything was smooth and simple and served with a smile. Thank you for putting my husband and me at ease and being super nice to us as well. You are a very valued part of our health community.
On my last 2 visits to the Avon facility, I was treated by Dr. Kurtzman. I was very satisfied with the treatment and personal interaction.
Not long of a wait to get in exam room, rather long wait for Doctor. Medical assistant very nice. Rather hard to hear and understand Dr. because of my hearing problem. Then long time to get medicine. Mix up with cvs
Your staff was very good. Kept me well informed, explained everything to us and why I needed an ambulance, kept me calm and comfortable. They were very attentive to my needs and were concerned about my well being. They got me back to be looked at quickly and efficiently. Excellent service.
I visited this clinic a year ago. They were so great I went back when I had much the same problem. I was admitted right away. The attending physician was positive, friendly, and kind. All the staff were great. They referred me to a specialist, which I got to same day. I would tab 10 stars if I could.
I went to to the Cabin Go Health Hartford healthcare in Anon, CT. The receptionist Dee, nurse Mawra and Dr. Riley was extremely compassionate and understanding. They were professional and quick. Dr. Riley came in and right away knew I was a little nervous and calmed me know when I told her my daughter was a cancer doctor and always makes me concerned with every illness. She said no worries most kids do that when in the medical field its natural because they are concerned . Lucky my test came back negative. Thank you guys. You were the 3 muskateers of doctoring today. Kudos to you. !
Hartford Healthcare - GoHealth Urgent Care in Avon is my familys go-to medical facility for all routine visits because of the top notch service and staff. We recently stopped in to have three COVID-19 rapid tests done. We stopped in fairly early (7:30 AM and on a Sunday) and were checked in and all seen together very promptly. The nurse and doctor were so pleasant, informative and helpful. We asked that our results be provided over the phone and were called almost as soon as we left (all negative, thankfully!). Thank you for the great service, as always.
On December of 2020, I had an issue with my health. I felt like I had something swollen in my esophagus, plus I had a question related to my general blood test in the event of the experienced symptoms, so I came to the Urgent Care searching for help. I was received by Dr. Birmingham. He told me my blood test was fine, the symptoms I was experiencing were not of his concern, and he told me to seek help from my personal doctor, and I did not a general practitioner at that time. He also told me he was not a doctor. Later, 2 weeks later, I got into the Emergency Room, and my condition got worse. He was there too but did not see me, and at that time he told me by another doctor he was MD. Later I was diagnosed with celiac disease, esophagitis etc. Lipomas keep growing on my body like mushrooms, but it was not a question for that doctor at that time. I am extremely disappointed by the attitude they demonstrated at the Urgent Clinic. Their focus is money and human beings are just numbers for them!
Staff was friendly and courteous. PA knew how to treat injury the minute she saw it. She also advised me what to do if problem occurred
Second time Ive had to bring my kids to get covid tested at this location. Doctor herself was very rude and for a mother of soon to be four kids was very disrespectful about my at home life situation as I have no help with my kids till my husband is home from work (no I really dont have anyone else to help me) and Im on bedrest for this pregnancy but knew my kids had to get tested. Proceeded to get a phone call about my oldest who does not belong to my husband on my husbands phone number thats not on file for her. Receptionist that finally picked up was just as rude and disrespectful as the doctor was to me and consistently belittled me asking what I didnt understand that she was telling me or asking me. Ill take my chances at a different location and facility and deal with my kids actual pediatrician no matter what.
Everyone was great, I have taken several Covid tests and results are very quickly available. One of the practitioners was a great help with my daughter who needed testing. Thanks to Ally, she was a tremendous help.
This was the worst doctors visit of my life. I had to wait 3 hours to get in and then they just shoved covid tests down my throat without listening to any of my symptoms. Ive had a deep cough that has been getting worse for over two weeks and the doctor said it was acid reflex. She gave me no medication and now I cant sleep, eat, or function. So thank you for nothing.
In and out in a timely fashion and the nurse was very professional
Absolutely great --- very efficient and empathetic to your health issue. They work together as a team to deliver great care in as little time as possible. I had an 8:30 appt but checked in at 8:05, had lab work and great interaction with the PA and then out the door at 8:30, headed to CVS. Highly recommend!
Thank you to Dr. Jaremko for diagnosing my shoulder fracture. He is an excellent physician and I was fortunate that he was at the clinic.
Thank you so much for helping get back in my feet so soon. I really appreciate the follow up call. It made me feel cared for. I truly appreciate the staff and would be using this walk in from now on.Update: returned because of the excellent service but it wasn’t as good as the last time. I’m glad the staff followed up with my complaint so I’ll definitely return again.
The staff was friendly and we were able to get in and out without much wait. Preregistration was easy and saved time. I am a healthcare provider, and I’d recommend Go-Health in Avon, and go back. They saved me in a pinch on a weekend!
The care was excellent: the provider took time to really listen and discuss. The wait time was not good, however. I made an appointment online, at a time their system suggested, and still had to wait 45 minutes to be seen. It wasnt busy, only 1 other person was waiting besides me.
Facility is highly professional. They take you in right on time, treat you with respect. The nice part Is that your results are available to your doctor if they’re part of the Hartford Hospital network.
I was seen in a timely manner. Everyone was friendly and professional and caring. The doctor I saw was an ER doctor. I cant remember his name. He was very concerned about my blood pressure and recommended I go to the ER to investigate the cause of my illness and low blood pressure. He made me feel very calm.
One bit of advice do a virtual visit first. If they think u need to go to urgent care they call and make appt for you. I did not have to wait as long as others who just walked in.I waited outside until it was my turn. Efficient system. Once in the exam room probably took no more than 20 mins. This is my second positive experience with Hartford Healthcare.
The guy who checked me in and did my initial intake was so unfriendly and just plain rude. It was as if I was an inconvenience and hed rather be somewhere else. Ive never been so uncomfortable at a medical office. The APRN who came in afterwards was the total opposite and couldnt have been nicer. But I doubt I will go back here if I can avoid it as I dont want to deal with the guy who did the intake.
I was attended to relatively quickly by a great nurse and by great doctor. He solved the problem very quickly and thoroughly. He clearly explained what I needed to do as the wound cured. It has stopped bleeding and now seems to be mending very well. I am very happy with Hartford Healthcares service and would quickly suggest anyone go there for any problems in the future.
I was the only one there and it took 20 min to get into my appointment, then had 5 minutes with the doctor but was left waiting in the room for 15 min before they let me go, when my being there was not important after seeing the doctor. Wasted too much of my time, but I did end up with what I needed from the appointment. If you aren’t busy it’s fine but I don’t reccomend going in if you have stuff going on that day.
Scheduling an appointment was easy, doctors and administrative staff were very personable and knowledgeable. So grateful to have an efficient walk in medical center in our community. Thank you ProHealth Avon, CT
The wait was long but the staff was incredible. Very personable...spent time answering my questions and an overall great experience. I would have given 5 stars but I was there a while....however would not hesitate to go back
It was quick, very easy, clean, made to feel comfortable, and great advice given. Happy to have this facility in the neighborhood!
I went here for a Covid test on September 25. Since Covid tests have been done for many months prior to my appointment I was expecting better protocols.1) Instead of being able to wait in my car I was in the reception area with four other people who were also there to get a Covid test. Even masked, it was still uncomfortable.2) The masks used by the staff seemed cheap and did not fit well.3) Exiting patients walked through the reception area further increasing the potential exposure to anyone waiting.4) When my vital signs were taken, a physical contact thermometer was used along with a physical pulse oximeter and a blood pressure cuff that gets reused with other patients.I came in for a Covid swab test and I walked out wondering if I put myself at more Covid risk by having a test. The staff was friendly and professional but there are opportunities to improve their processes to help keep patients and staff safe.
The doctor who helped me listened to everything I was explaining to him and gave me his undivided attention like I was the only patient there! I was very pleased with the care I received!
This is just namesake “urgent care”. They do not do anything at priority basis. If you are going to get COVID test done, even when you give your sample at the early hours, they waste the complete day and send your samples to Quest the next day, this will make you to loose 1 complete day. Even if you explain your urgency and request them to add the priority tag, staff just ignore your request. Very disappointed with their responses/services. You could find the most rude staff here.
Amazing staff. Everyone was professional, empathetic and personable. They were clear with what theyd be doing to assess me, what to do while I wait to see a specialist and referred me to a specialist because I didnt have one.Pro tip: go online and reserve an arrival time. Saved me 1.5 hours on a Saturday.
No wait at all, during a season where everyone is getting sick. Very convenient to be able to register online before you get there. I did not pre-register, and I was still taken right away. There was a glitch in the computer system and it took a while to get me in because of that. Also the blood pressure cuffs seemed to be off that day, so it took about 7 tries to get a good reading. Not anyone’s fault, as the staff was super friendly and apologetic. They also follow up with you and I was given the PA’s next day of work in case my symptoms got worse. I would recommend this Urgent Care Center to everyone in the area.
Short wait time. The staff from Registration to the nurses and doctors everyone was amazing. Very kind and gentle
We went to the Avon, CT location today, 10/12/19! Awful. Disorganized! We signed in. Text said a 20 min wait. In the meantime, the lobby is filling up. The staff are at their stations all are eating/drinking. No one is taking care of the patients! Over a half an hour later we were called to the counter. Flu shot will be $20 (no problem) but another wait-told all rooms are filled. Another 20 minutes or so. Really? For a flu shot! Pretty pathetic. It would be over an hour or more for a flu shot. Any parmacy, it would be 5-10 minutes AND no charge. Yes, we walked out! I would give no stars but system doesnt allow that!
I made a reservation online, and was watching it on the screen. When I got to the top of the list, I was bumped down for someone who got there after me. My name was then at the top of the list again and they bumped me down again and called someone else. I asked the staff about this and they told me that the screen is wrong and that I shouldnt go by whats on the screen. So basically, there is no point in making an appointment and the screen is useless Im told. I felt discriminated against for being the only Hispanic person there, and everyone they took before me, and the people working there, were all white. Then the medical assistant COMPLETELY RUSHED thru my intake and DIDNT even go over my current medications. Then I waited an additional hour in the room alone. I felt EXTREMELY MISTREATED here.Update: They responded to my review asking me to provide them more details including the center that this took place. Did you guys even read the review? I clearly posted this for the Avon location. Another example of poor service skills.
I would recommend this place to everybody. I have been here twice. This time, my 2 yr old hurt his wrist. They were fast and efficient. The staff was polite and pleasant. The gentleman from hard hittin New Britain that did my son’s intake eval, the x-ray tech, and Dr. Jaremko were all very nice to me and my two little boys.
Arrived @ 11:30 for a COVID test for my wife. Told 2-3 hour wait. 2.5 hours in, she goes in to ask the status, they state it will be “a while” and say that she can go home and come back when they call. OK, so they call back around 3:25 PM, we get there prior to 3:35 PM (traffic and lights). Wife is now told another 2-3 hours because a walk-in came in before she arrived. Now she is sick and frustrated and getting a bit loud I am sure, but not yelling. The staff then threatens to call 911. They tell her she should have stayed in the parking lot (yeah, for 4.5 hours.... does that even make sense?). Needless to say, no COVID test, wife still sick and now wants nothing to do with the medical establishment as this should be 101 level stuff 9 months in, but nope. Testing is nowhere near as widely available as being touted, unless one is to drive 30 minutes or more to a drive in center. Pathetic, but not surprised being HH.
