I love this facility! The receptionist made me feel very welcomed when I first arrived and let me know immediately that there would be a little bit of a wait and let me decide if I would like to stay or not/ reschedule for another day, I decided to stay and I am glad I did.Dr Ashley was amazing. She is so nice, kind, and caring for the wellbeing of her patients and explains everything and anything to the fullest extent making sure her patients questions are answered despite being extremely busy, she takes the time with every single one of her patients, she really cares!!She went above and beyond. This staff really cares. I felt so welcomed and understood. I am so thankful for everyone here at this facility. I actually prefer them over my regular OBGYN, I am even thinking of comingto them from now on for all of myreproductive needs!Thank you Planned Parenthood Livonia for everything you do!! ❤️
This place is so lovely!!! I wish all my doctor appointments went this well. The staff are super friendly. LGBTQ+ flags and posters along with patient rights posters. The waiting area was comfy. When my name was called, I went into a second area where the nurse walked me through my procedure and the potential side effects. Also, I had a chance to ask any questions. I had to do the dreaded urine sample, but their bathroom had a cool door to put my sample in so I didnt walk around with it awkwardly. Then I was asked if I wanted something to drink while I wait!!! What service. I was moved into the procedure room and a doctor again went through what they were doing and asked if I had any questions. The doctor was very gentle and asked me if purple was OK for a bandage. Of course!!! I paid after my procedure was done. Planned Parenthood is a gem to the community and provides so many different healthcare services. There are so much more than an abortion clinic, and I was so glad to choose them for my procedure.
Went for an IUD insertion. Ashley did a great job with the procedure and was very willing to answer all questions and accommodate what I needed to make the procedure “easy”. IUDs overall are just very painful no matter how smooth the procedure goes, but I was prepped appropriately. They didn’t rush me out of there post procedure, allowed me to take all the time I needed. They brought me ice packs, juice, all the things. Very attentive staff.I have a hard time getting my blood drawn, but Miranda did a great job getting the needle on the first try, so the experience was very easy.Very nice facility overall, but did notice some overflowing trash and open biohazard containers, which were slightly concerning but I never felt unsafe. I did ask to have something wiped down and they did it with no issue. You do want to give yourself an extended amount of time when you have an appointment because you never know when you will be called back or how long it will take. I was there for about 2 hours from the time I walked in to the time I walked out, but I okay with that, as I prepped for that timeframe and was able to get an appointment for what I needed very quickly. Will be back for future care.
Poor communication, rude staff. The only reason I gave two stars is because I didnt have a long wait and the facility itself was clean and welcoming. Wish the staff had also been welcoming. I felt that I was being rushed, I felt that the answers I gave to medical questions were being judged by the staff, and when I asked any clarifying questions I got eye rolls. The nurse practitioner didnt even come back to let me know the results of my tests, I found out through the MyChart notification/from the med assistant who was rude the entire time. Go to literally any other PP location.
If I could give them zero stars trust me I would, the only reason why I even gave them 2 stars was because the TWO ladies that came in to ask me questions and to draw my blood, were very nice and friendly, the lady at the front desk had a slight attitude but was nice after my visit ended during checkout, I specifically asked to be tested for Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Syphilis, HIV and Trich. When writing down notes I repeated myself about 2-3 times on what I specifically wanted, and they STILL didnt do what i requested. I’ve went to Beaumont and they had NO problem locating my insurance, the lady at the front desk made it seem as if she couldn’t locate it or was having trouble. I checked MyChart and my results came very quickly, that was also great, until i noticed they left off the results for Trich, as I went to check further I realized that they didn’t even add Trich to the testing after telling them multiple times and I called to schedule my appointment a week BEFOREHAND and spoke to the lady on the phone and she also said that she would put it down and didn’t. Terrible but what do you expect they have 3.1 out of 5.0 stars.
I come here for my gender affirming care. Theyve always been great! Its no hassel to get HRT. I transferred care to this center from another provider about 3 years ago.The only reason Im taking one star off is because you have to wait an hour at minimum beyond your appointment to see your provider. I only come here because my primary doctor doesnt deal with HRT and its cheaper than who my provider recommended.
Got an IUD removal and reinsertion. When I asked for lidocaine she said you mean ibuprofen? no maam I mean a local anesthetic not something I can get myself from the CVS down the street.Getting an IUD hurts. It feels like youre getting split open. While the staff did seem to be somewhat concerned, they threatened to stop the procedure any time I cried out in pain as you would if you were getting your cervix prodded and getting your uterus measured. My pain felt like a nuisance and an inconvenience. If you are getting an IUD please do yourself a favor: call ahead and ask for lidocaine. You are not weak for asking. I wish I had actually stopped and made another appointment. I really wish I did.
The staff is always so nice. They all make you feel so comfortable being there and the doctors do not rush they are caring and compassionate.
Went here yesterday to get bloodwork done. I knew something was wrong as soon as the phlebotomist withdrew blood from my vein. It was painful and I didn’t even know it gave me a blow vein until I went home and took off my bandaid. I was already skeptical of receiving services from Planned Parenthood because of the experiences I had with them in the past. This was the last straw, and it shows they are really letting anyone who is untrained draw blood. Don’t come here unless you want blow veins and can’t even use your arm now because it’s too painful. Never coming back and telling all my friends to avoid planned parenthood and to go to the doctor’s/OB-GYN instead for services.
Had an amazing experience here!I got an appointment to get an IUD inserted. The check in staff were friendly and I did not wait long. The doctor walked me through the process before starting and when I told her I was worried I might pass out during it, she brought in one of the nurses to talk to me and help as needed. When going through the insertion process the doctor walked through every step she was doing which calmed my nerves. The pain was similar to an average cramp. They also gave me water and snacks just in case. I definitely will come back here for regular appointments. Even if you have insurance you can still come here!
Said they couldnt find my insurance and made me pay a huge fee *after* I had services rendered. I have used my insurance recently (within the last couple of weeks) at an urgent care and they had no problem finding it. So I did not have a choice and had to pay it. And I also had to wait an hour to even go to a waiting room. I will not be coming back to this location or recommending it to anyone. They dont really care and will take money from you because of their mistakes.
Came here today to have my IUD swapped out for a newer model. Not the most pleasant procedure, but the best it could have been! The doctor was quick and efficient and tuned into my pain levels. The office is clean and comfortable. All the staff from the front desk, to the MA to the doctor/NP were warm and kind. I have a real hard time being in any medical setting due to past bad experiences, but I felt safe and welcomed here. Highly recommend!!!
Beyond terrible experience. My health was clearly not important to none of them since I ended up in the ER. Not only that, I even got an ultrasound at this PP and they couldnt even tell me that I had two ovarian cysts that are the size of a tangerine, but when I was in the ER, that was the first thing they told me about… and they weren’t even looking for cysts. Its Beyond disappointing that a medical facility cant even be straightforward with their patients. Also, I find it crazy that I spoke to planned parenthood about my insurance days in advance before my appointment, and when I get there, the receptionist straight up asks me to pay $600 instead of even inquiring about my insurance.
Wouldn’t recommend the doctors was nice and the actual nurse I had was very nice but the people at the front desk were moving so quick they didn’t send my refund like they said they did… when I called customer service they said they would put it through for me…. THE LADIES NEED TO REMEMBER TO TREAT PEOPLE WITH CARE AND MAKE THEM COMFORTABLE I DIDNT FEEL COMFORTABLE OR ANY PRIVACY AT THIS LOCATION…
I was very happy with my experience at this planned parenthood. I was very scared about getting the iud placed because I had it placed a few years ago at a different location, and I had a very bad experience (a lot of cramping that didn’t go away). They were very helpful, explained everything in detail, answered all my questions and were very patient with me throughout my procedure. My medical assistant Jen and Dr. Watson were very sweet and professional. Jen helped me through my procedure and kept me at ease. Thank you both! :)
The staff was absolutely amazing. From the receptionist to the MA to the PA. They were all beyond amazing and I felt so comfortable in their care! They did run very late. My appointment was for 10:50 and I finally saw the NP (Ashley) at 12:50. However this is not the staffs fault. I overheard the NP saying she didnt get a lunch break. Please, Planned Parenthood, listen to your staff and adjust appointments and length of appointments so that the staff can eat and fuel their bodies without literally running around and rushing. Otherwise, this office gets 5 stars from me.I needed my Paraguard IUD removed and Mirena inserted and I couldnt get into my normal GYN until the end of April so I was pleasantly surprised with only waiting 2 weeks for an appointment around the holidays.
Had probably one of the best medical visits Ive ever had (28 yr old) staff is really friendly and educated and they made me feel very comfortable. The doctor actually cared and was really gentle during the whole visit.
The nurse who did my Vitals and asked me all the questions was awesome she had a great attitude and sense of humor. The practitioner Ashley was clearly having a bad day she complained about her computer or log in whatever it was not working. She kept grunting, giving bad attitude, acted like she was in a rush and overall being unprofessional.
I was wary of the bad reviews, but I cant imagine why people have put only one star. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, the space was accessible and comfortable, and I was done with my appointment in a little less than an hour. Maybe wait times are longer when there are more patients or a staff shortage, but I honestly wouldnt have minded much.
Got my arm implant out all the staff was amazing made me feel so comfortable the whole time. Even handled when my boyfriends sugar went low they gave him snacks and made sure he was ok. Only bad thing was the wait time but the care was amazing
Had an amazing experience here today! I was so so so nervous about getting my annual/pap done because Ive had bad experiences in the past but I didnt feel a thing. Everyone here from Lizzie at the front desk, to Susan (Dr.) was so professional and sweet. I didnt feel a thing with my pap, and they made the experience very comfortable and I was at ease. Thank you ladies for doing what you do.
The doctor and staff at this location are VERY friendly, and professional. I drive quite a ways to go to the Livonia location because I prefer the doctor. I have never had a problem with any Planned Parenthood doctor . The difference with this doctor is that she is very thorough. If I forget something she will be on top of it. I like that her number one concern is my health. She is not afraid to tell me when Im doing something that is not good and I need to change it. She has a good bedside manner but she doesnt candy coat anything. I feel like I am in good hands and I dont feel like anything is overlooked. She also educated me probably self breast exams. Overall she just great doctor who cares about what she does and Im very thankful there are people like that out there.
It was seriously awful! The worst place I have been to. I had to transfer there because I moved. I went there originally to get an annul check up. I was a new patient. My apt time was 3:10 nobody was able to see me (even though I made an apt a week in advance) until after 4:30 I left because I worked at 5. I scheduled another apt two weeks later. The NP was HORRIBLE! She made me feel so stupid about everything and made me feel bad about myself. Doctors are suppose to be friendly and make you feel safe and not judged. Safe to say that I will not be returning or referring anyone to this location in fact I will most likely discourage them from coming.
I have had more bad experiences with this place than good. You will get mixed information from every person you talk to. They have wasted my time with scheduling appointments to be unable to help me when I arrive twice. I was 8 minutes late and told to call next time so they would make sure I could be seen...funny because Ive sat in their exam room for 2 hours without seeing anyone for a prescription refill because of a difficult patient. I will never be returning to this office and I advise you to look elsewhere unless your looking to waste your time.
The wait time was fair. The staff was pleasant. If you expect your prescription to be sent to your pharmacy in an adequate amount of time this isnt the place for you. My appointment was on a Thursday and today is Tuesday still nothing currently on hold as this is my 5th phone call. Continually being told it will be sent over but nothing ever is.
Everybody is wonderful!! I had an IUD that was coming out and every doctors office I called wanted to schedule me months out... They got me in same day. Thank you so much!!
The assistant is super nice, but Ive been sitting here for over 2 hours waiting to be seen. I have to head to work in an hour. I made myself an appointment with more than 3 hours before I had to be to work with the knowledge that sometimes these things happen, but Im only in for a consult for birth control. Nothing in depth or super personal. How long does it take to review my file and write a script?
Each experience is different. My first time there, I waited 5 hours for my appointment, just to get a depo shot. The receptionist said they over scheduled because usually not every patient shows up. Then she commented loudly that there were people in the room that arrived way too early for their appointment (not me, but another woman). The next time I went, I was scheduled wrong and couldnt see the physician. So I scheduled another appointment. When I came in for that, they had scheduled me wrong again and I couldnt see a physician, she told me I would have a 3 week wait for Mirena, berated me on my weight, told me should couldnt give me emergency contraception ( which I didnt ask for ), and rolled her eyes when I didnt want to get tested that particular day ( I had just provided a sample for the pregnancy test and didnt have to pee ). When I did call to schedule my Mirena, thinking it would be 3 weeks like she said, they offered me an appointment for the very next week. The receptionist and doctor Ive had were never friendly, but the nurses/technicians are always super friendly and helpful.
I have been a patient of planned parenthood since I was 15 years old however I went to the one in Ypsilanti which unfortunately was shut down due to lack of funds. Which is sad bc in the 15+ years Ive gone there its always been regular pap exams and things of that nature. They base on income so all can take care of their bodies. This location is small but the receptionist was great. The Doctor however lacked bedside manner. People please be mindful that people have other agendas when writing these reviews so read with caution.
While the staff was pleasant, the wait was not. I came in to refill my prescription, nothing more. I arrived at 11am for a 11:15am appointment and walked out around 1:30pm without having it filled. I did not anticipate having a 2+ hour wait and could not stay any longer due to prior commitments. There is no reason for this long of a wait for a prescription refill. This was my first time at this location and my last.
I had a 2:20 appointment today. I walked in at 2:10 and was told to wait since I was early. At 2:30, the receptionist that told me to wait asked if I was okay. I asked if there was anything else I needed to do to check in and she apparently forgot that I told her I had an appointment 20 minutes ago. She finally checked me in (10 mins past my appointment time) and I have been waiting to be seen for half an hour now. Do yourself a favor and make the drive to Ferndale.
Wait time for both calling to get an appointment and waiting to see a medical personal was well over 45 minutes, which was sort of expected. However, calling for an appointment a week in advanced just for it to be cancelled and rescheduled was not expected. The pro-life protestors were fun to watch tho.
After seeing all of the negative reviews I was extremely nervous coming here. My expierence was nothing like the other reviews! Everyone was welcoming and it definitely was a judgement free zone. The CNM/NP was awesome and really kind. I was there for about an hour total, which is much faster than going to a normal obgyn appt for bc. I would really recommend going there and disregard the negative reviews cus my appointment was 100% opposite.
Ive needed to go here when I had no one else to turn to for basic female care due to financial and privacy concerns. They have been nothing but supportive and non judgemental. Even if I oppose a treatment option and say its against my beliefs, I have never felt judged. I have received nothing but complete respect, compassion, and resources from these people. I feel safe here. Thank you so much !
Everyone is kind and knowledgeable, in a place where I can get the help I need regardless of my insurance. Thank you. I dont know what I would do without you.
Not professional to say the least. I prefer Ann Arbor, the staff there is very attentive, never discussing personal life in front of patients. Idk who the manager is but they need a staff meeting at this location
All the staff was really nice and personable. I felt like a person not a problem. They also didnt misgender me. Would recommend and go to there again.
I am a bit upset that they cancelled my appointment when I made the appointment 2 weeks ago and I had to ask or time off for it. They rescheduled for a teleappointment but because I need some things I cant but in person Ill have to take more time off.
I went this past week to get my birth control they were not only amazing to talk to and real and down to the point with me (iud I had fallen out the night before) so we got me back up and running with something new I have never been to planned parenthood before this so my first experience was amazing to say the least if I ever have to go back I will definitely be going back to them they had me in and out pretty quick also which was also a plus for me being a mom of two and being busy definitely recommend this planned parenthood ❤ and thank you to the ladies who did help me and talked me through all of what I needed
Why bother to schedule an appointment when you’ll wait for over an hour to even get into the back? Watched several people come in after me and still get in before me. Ridiculous!
The receptionist and nurse practitioner was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. They explained options of birth control very well.
Wait was horrible my appt time 2:30pm didnt get seen untill about 4pm but before that the rep was telling people to leave and reschedule because the tech had a emergency yes we undersand but after we waited so long and then you tell us that yea that will suck and it didSo i was able to get seen but from 4 to 5 i did my testing and thats all i was going for annual so yea i walk out wasted my whole day and the fact i support planned parenthood and this happen wow dont waste your time and day to go here
The staff was rude and condescending. They wanted me to pay a fee even though I wasnt seen by a doctor and was denied a renewal for my prescription.
Staff is very nice and respectful. Felt very welcome and comfortable.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE LONG WAITS SAY 30 MINUTES YOU WAIT HOURS BAD COMMUNICATION NEVER USING THIS ONE AGAIN
Horrible. They told me it would only be an hour visit and I waited on the doctor for 45 mins to not even see one and I was still there over an hour
I prefer the detriot environment they were more friendly and i felt more open with my question, this one felt judgy and strict
I’ve been calling for an urgent appointment for 3 days nobody have answered I call 9am until they close I really don’t understand and it’s very frustrating
Terrible service would not recommend. A very sick place!!!!! It deserves negative stars!
Horrible experience, they had me waiting for 3 hrs to be seen by a doctor.Worst experience
Had a great experience but wait was long
Literally waited there for 3 hours for a 10 minute procedure.
They explained everything perfectly, and were very helpful 😀😀
Would not recommend
Very unprofessional
Great service
