Brookhollow Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinic Dr Nelson Uzquiano MD

The clinic is clean and easily accessible. The staff is professional and welcoming. Some comments mention complaints about the wait time, but honestly it varies depending on the time your appointment is and of course urgent cases. Between 8-12 it’s less busy than the afternoons, which is the case with most clinics in general. I brought my mother here in the morning and she was immediately seen and was treated with the utmost respect and care by the staff and provider. This clinic also manages a lot of high risk cases which many obgyn clinics are unwilling to manage and does all their lab work in house for the convenience of the patients. All positive aspects of this clinic.

I recently visited Dr. Uzquiano and Nurse Maria for a check-up, and I couldnt be more pleased with the care I received. Dr. Uzquiano was incredibly thorough and took the time to explain everything clearly, ensuring I felt comfortable and informed. Nurse Maria was equally wonderful, providing compassionate and attentive care throughout my visit. Their professionalism and dedication to patient care truly stand out. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of excellent gynecological care.

I had a C-section for the birth of my daughter, and I couldn’t be more grateful to Dr. Uzquiano. From the very beginning, he provided exceptional care! I highly recommend Dr. Uzquiano and his staff to anyone looking for a dedicated and compassionate doctor.

I had a great experience with Dr. Uzquiano at Brookhollow OBGYN. They helped my wife and me successfully conceive our second son, and their care throughout the pregnancy was exceptional. The staff was highly professional and supportive, making us feel comfortable every step of the way. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality OBGYN services.

Went there throughout my whole pregnancy. At first I would be attended pretty quickly and nice but at the very end It would take hours. I had to pay $$ out of pocket for doctor to deliver my baby and he didn’t even deliver my baby, he Never showed up until I was being released from the hospital and only asked if I was good and that’s it. Didn’t enter my room. Staff was nice towards me till I stopped going which was at the end of my postpartum check ups. Wouldn’t recommend anyone else to go and I plan on going to a new OB if I were to get pregnant again.

Since I’ve been coming here or being visiting , the staff and doctors always been very helpful and friendly. They work and contribute to a clean environment to let me know that they’re here for all women and babies. Most importantly, they gave me a second chance to be a great mother. This place is a total disgrace; there is no care, no professionalism no nothing. Please run away from here! When I first called to set an appointment, the ladies in the front were beyond helpful. With high concerns about my conditions, they were very pleasant and very supportive over the phone I couldn’t wait to come for a visit. Met the doctor and the nurses and knew I was in great hands.

My sister in law recommended Brookhollow Obstetrics & Gynecology. I made an appointment for my infertility and pcos. As soon as I walked in the clinic the staff was super nice and friendly. Nurse Maria Avalos was so helpful and super nice. They explained the step by step process. I highly recommend. Also the clinic is super nice. Just lovely.

Literally the Worst experience I’ve EVER had in my life!!! The females at the front are rude And do not care about anything, I have a severe allergy to Iodine an they are telling me there is not a Prenatal vitamin that does not have Iodine , this is my 3rd pregnancy and each time I’ve had prenatal vitamins without iodine , that’s Twice to different brands ! i even called an gave them the name, they never got back with me which was the 20th of July so I called back an they didn’t even have on file that I called an gave them the name from my old Doctors office, Two weeks past STILL nothing so when I called they told me they was sending the vitamins to my pharmacy turns out they had IODINE IN THEM so they canceled an didn’t even sound concerned at all , not even aware that I’m allergic again .. told me to just go get some over the counter didn’t even offer a recommendation or nothing !!! literally do not care about you or your babies. I highly think they need to be shut down I waited a whole hour to be seen an there was literally one person who went in an left the time I was there !!! Horrible literally deserves 0 stars an no one’s business!!!!

Great clinic!! My wife Elizabeth and I have been coming here for some time. They are very attentive of her pregnancy. I am glad we started coming here, they have help us a lot. The staff is very great front desk, nurse stations MA, and physicians are great. If its an emergency or any other situation they will help you. Thank you guys!!!! You all are awesome 👌👏!!!

One of the worst places! Please do not make any appointments here. They asked me if I have been here before when I was there two weeks ago, how many weeks the doctor confirmed and to take another urine example when they had all my information in front of their faces. Next, the nurse put me in a room and I waited one whole hour for the doctor. After waiting for an hour, I came out of the room looking for the doctor and found my folder outside another room. Unbelievable. Doctor acted like she was in shock. Everybody was mostly talking and laughing loud instead of doing their work. Waste of time and money. I recommend to NOT make a visit to this place.

I have been searching for Dr.Uzquiano until i found him! Great OBGYN i definitely recommend he delivered my last 3 children and never had any issues they are really attentive! Im on baby #4 and i am so happy to have found him i didnt trust nobody else!

I absolutely love their staff. Very kind and helpful during this pandemic. Super clean and great at following CDC guidelines. Its the only place I feel completely safe other than at home! George, Nereyda, and Maria are absolutely amazing. They really go above and beyond to make you comfortable and are always happy to answer any questions!! Love them and the whole team!!

Staff is friendly and comforting but it takes a long time to be seen by the doctor, sometimes it is most the time of the wait than the doctors visit to the room. Plan on 3-4 hours in the waiting room and eat before you come. Doctor has been pleasant but quick so far and is always ready to answer all your concers. They make you feel welcome all the time so that you can relay on the staff that work under the docs. Oh and they are always there when you need a quick call for questions.

So much to say about this practice. It’s very poorly managed. Every visit, was a wait time of 2.5-3.5 hours. The staff was nice but poorly managed. I started going to this clinic since I had a positive pregnancy test, I was roughy 5 wks. Every time I went in for an OB appointment, I would always get asked what was my reason for the appointment. Mind you, these would be appointments that would be scheduled before leaving my previous appointments. When called to the back for vitals, I was always asked for my urine sample and my urine sample had been sitting there since after I checked in and I would still get asked at the nurses station my reason if visit. One time when the US tech came in to do my US, she didn’t even know I had been there before and they had my file that clearly shows I was a patient of theirs. When entering my info on the US machine she tells the dr assistance or whatever that other lady is oh look she has been here before.The first time I had a visit with Nelson Uzquiano he didn’t even introduce himself. Was in an out within 3 minutes more or less. He is only there certain days and wait time is ridiculous to see him. I never understood how that practice is ran.I was self paid at first and a lot of the testing was not done until I had Medicaid, which I do not understand why they would not give me a list of testing that need to be done and discuss pricing with me. A papsmear was never done, which typically that’s something that is done first or second visit.They have so much personnel in the lobby for check in and for what reason who knows. George was always helpful and got back to you. Maria was alway nice as well and considerate.Apparently they have an online portal that they do not use. I know this because I wrote a message and never received a response or call.My second to last appointment the literally had a full lobby with full families like it’s a government clinic, it’s unbelievable that they are allowing full families during a pandemic knowing that it’s practice for pregnant women.Also the hospital is like 45 mins away from the location.I seriously do not recommend this practice, do your research before hand. Keep in mind that if you are not certain or safe with your prenatal care, you baby isn’t either.There is a lot of improvements this clinic could do and maybe it could turn them around. But it left a really bad taste in my mouth.Glad I switched my prenatal care elsewhere.

Dr. Uzquino is the BEST gynecologist. He gives you the time that you deserve and answers ALL your questions with a great attitude. You can see he really cares for his patients. He saved my life while the doctor that I used to see before him (10 years ago) just wanted to treat the issue every six months. I recommend him to everyone and will keep on doing that. His staff is also great. Maria is also the best nurse! She is always on top of things. Great doctor, great nurse, EXCELLENT service and experience.

The doctor and head nurse are very attentive. Very high quality equipment and facility. Very well kept clinic. Customer service was very important to the staff and it showed when they were attending to my mothers health. They really care about taking care of their patients. I went to other clinics and they were never as caring as the staff at brookhollow. I would recommend to all my family and friends and anyone else in need of a great doctor.

The staff is nice however the wait time is so horrible I just do understand why we make appointments and then called back just to wait while we watch everyone have conversations. Some people need to do this in their off days or worse leave work to come here . It should be as easy as getting the patient taken care of and getting them out I’ve been here an hour and only peed in a cup and I’m Not the only patient waiting around so who knows how many people are before me . I don’t think it’s due to being under staffed bc there are a lot of employees here it seems . Last visit I waited in the room for an ultrasound and the doctor and nurse kept opening and closing the door bc they were having a personal conversation outside the room I was in while I’m sitting there with no pants on they are having a personal conversation about their off day which had me in the room even more longer. I think they need more communication and to try not leaving patients in the room waiting so long if your not ready for them they should be left in the waiting room. What’s the point of an appointment. Other than that it’s clean and the staff are very sweet it’s nothing against them I just believe it’s something they should work on to be more efficient.

I had previously posted a review regarding the girls in the front and their horrible attitude. In the end I decided to move to another doctor at Texas Childrens and am so glad I did. First and foremost, please be aware of the charges that they are charging you. I was continuously being asked to pay out of pocket until I called my insurance and asked why nothing was going towards my deductible. Come to find out they informed me that I should not have been paying anything out of pocket because everything was covered by my insurance. Every time I asked the girls in the front about the payments and how I had insurance they always said that an amount was due and that it was not fully covered. I paid $800 or so out of pocket until my insurance spoke to this doctors office and told them they had to refund me my money! I highly doubt anyone would have told me I had overpaid and even then I was being asked to pay more money towards the doctors delivery charge, until I decided it was better for me to just leave to another doctor. Also, when transferring all my paperwork from this doctors office, they made it pretty difficult to send my stuff over. I had to go back and forth to this office by calling or showing up. Anyways, I paid for a copy of my transfer papers and come to find out there was information on my paperwork that was completely incorrect - they had that I was unemployed, lived in an apartment and had no pets (I was never asked these questions and these answers were totally wrong, in fact they are the complete opposite). Also, when I went to my new doctor she went over all the transfer paper work with me and she started asking me if I was on some pills and that I had been diagnosed with something at Brookhollows doctors office, when she started describing it, I told her it was incorrect. I was never told I had that diagnosis and am not on the pills she named. The doctor told me I understand when small mistakes are made but this one is a pretty big one and she couldnt believe how much information was incorrect on my file. Later on she was telling me that she doesnt believe much of the information that was transferred since it seems that a lot of it was wrong. So she is redoing some tests and some tests that should have been done at Brookhollow werent. Again, please be aware. Im not sure if they are scamming people/insurance at this doctors office but there is something definitely wrong going on here.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. I started coming here when I was 15 weeks pregnant. THEY ARE HORRIBLE! First, the wait once you check in is extremely long.. expect to be here for at least 3.5 hours total. I had an infection previously diagnosed and when this clinic ran a test to see if I had this same infection one of my nurses said it was gone. Another nurse came in the room and said the infection was still there. I also had a instance where the doctor and 2 nurses were in my room with me and they were all saying things to contradict one another. THEY ARE SOOOO UNPROFESSIONAL. When I filled out my initial patient sheet, they gave me another clients signed forms instead of a blank form. This clinic is a joke. Don’t waste your time here!!!

Doctor and staff is AMAZING.BUT, ever since they switched management they are a total disaster!inaccurate account management, not understanding towards anything at all.ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY!The billing service is disgustingly rude!The manager is okay but has no understanding towards anything, expects you to reschedule and neglect prenatal care if you dont have your balance (from previous year that they notified you about a week prior).Insurances they show up as an in network provider with they are refusing and turning around because they are having trouble with billing.They need new management ASAP or this place will shut down as i would hate to happen because the DOCTOR IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!Theres another practice on SW Freeway which the same doctor practices and they are run absolutely nothing like this.So sad that its too far from my job or else I would switch instantly!

Why do people call the doctor amazing. He literally just spend 2 minutes with me after I was waiting for 3hours. I felt that the doctor didnt even pay attention me he didnt care about my symptoms it just felt like he wanted my money and that is all. Maybe he didnt care about me because i didnt bring him alot of money like people who do have insurance do. One positive thing was the staff was nice and the place was clean.

One of my worst experiences at a drs office. I have been here before and it was a pleasant experience. HOWEVER, they have hired soo many new people that seem as they do not care about patients, have not been properly trained AND/OR are not fit for the position. That was unacceptable for a drs office visit. On top of that, I waited an hour and thirty minutes to pee in a cup and the lady at the front desk had a very nasty attitude when I asked about the long wait and told me to “go back there and ask them” lol Absolutely not. I left, and made an appointment elsewhere. I will not be going back.

Dr. Uzquiano Is an outstanding physician. He will spend time with you and seems to genuinely care for your wellbeing. I work with medical professionals of all types, and know this doctor to be one of the most compassionate people I have ever known. A good clinician, thorough in his exams and a nice person as well. Most of the people who work at Brookhollow Obstetrics & Gynecology are friendly and make you feel welcomed.

Great professionalism from the time I stepped foot into their office from the front desk all the way through to my appointment with Dr. Uzquiano. The atmosphere of the office was pleasant, the staff welcoming and the flow of the appointment, time wise, was as expected. Dr. Uzquiano has always been very attentative, professional and knowledgeable. It is thanks to him and the treatment he put me on that made me able to conceive my miracle baby. Arrived at 8:50 for a 9am appointment. The office was closed. Doors did not open until 9:10am. Staff was just chit-chating once the doors opened instead of apologizing to several of us for the delay. When I asked what was the ETA to actually be seen I was told they didnt know bc they needed to wait to turn on the computers.

Great clinic!!!! They all attended me very well. Great staffing been going there all my pregnancy and had a GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!!!! also GREAT doctor Nelson uzquiano would highly recommend 100% 👌 👍 he was really patient and nice.

I was a new patient and Im non Hispanic. As soon as I walked in the door I felt targeted. My fault I did not see the sign that said to wear a mask and it was an honest mistake on my part but there was Hispanic women in there and I counted 2 with no mask. I left and will not go back. We are all Gods creations and seriously its an ob GYN . Why would I feel comfortable taking my pants off. Really? It was prejudice all the way around.when I asked why the other did not have to wear one they said nothing. So I left. Never again... apparently Im not the only one ..I read other reviews as well...

Staff is fine but if you’re looking for resolution. More than likely you’re not going to get it. Went to several visits. I had to call for results once results are in giving medications that doesn’t work and symptoms become worse and problems that you came with are still there. Call leave messages and you don’t recover a call back. That’s not a concerned facility if you came with issues and you leave with the same issues. Yet they don’t even give you a follow up visit or call to see if the medications or your health is better.

I did not feel respected. I felt judged as soon as I was asking about certain kinds of birth control. There were a lot of opinions and questions that had no medical use, like What if you fall in love? Sir, that is none of your business. I was treated as if I am not intelligent and as if I had not done research beforehand. If you want someone to be on your side for womens health, this is not the place.

It’s like patient charts dont exist at this place.1st appointment in july, was over charged bc their insurance people didnt verify my plan which is an HRA, so the insurance must be billed for services and the patient pays their portion after insurance has covered X amount allowed by the plan. The office manger argued with me for months over this and had “to check” if a refund was allowed and tried to offer credit for future services. This isnt walmart. They were paid twice, once at the time of service before being seen and again by the insurance which paid from my HRA account the remaining owed after plan discounts and fought me over giving my money back.My second appt was just as erratic as the first, which was today. Its as if patient charts do not exist here. I came in for IUD removal and replacement- no one had any idea that i already had an existing IUD in place and were extremely confused by this. THIS IS WHY PATIENT CHARTS EXIST. Use them.During my 1st and 2nd appointments i was informed of blood in urine and no meds were offered. Guess i just get to keep this underlying uti.10/10 do not recommend

I had a great experience here. Dr. Uzquiano and his staff members were very professional and caring. All of my concerns were addressed. I had a smooth pregnancy and delivery all because of an amazing doctor! Thank you Dr. Uzquiano and staff for everything.

So first thing is I arrived early to my appointment. Took 1 hr before being called back. I had to do a urine sample and the bathroom was dirty and had old dirty mops in it. The placement for holding on a waiting room was in a small cramped room NOT CDC approved. Dr. NELSON UV. Was very non verbal, he came in and left under 2 minutes. I had to keep asking him questions because he wasnt speaking. He had shadowers whom he never introduced nor where they wearing MASK . It was 6 of us in one tiny exam room. The rooms were dirty. Medicine cabinets were unlocked and opened. I had a bad experience and I wont be back. I will not recommend this location. The Dr. Is clearly ready to retire and it shows in his work ethic. I went to checkout and that was another bag of worms I wont get into. Its a poorly ran facility to be fair. THE WAITING ROOM WAS TOO CROWDED FOR COVID CASES TO BE ON THE RISE. no social distancing. If your arent Hispanic just dont even show up. Dont book an appointment. Find somewhere else to be.

Horrible place apart from hearing the receptionist talk about what patients they hate & their hair they aren’t at all cordinated nor they even knock on the door to come in while you’re getting a Pap smear done apart from that no face mask was used by the lady who did my Pap smear I also consulted to see what I could do to get my tubes tied to which Dr. Uzquiano said he doesn’t want to tie my tubes & that I have to be 27 or get on a birth control not even after me having 2 kids & multiple complications with the birth control I had been on previously in which he stated if you’re married keep having kids or get permanent sterilization but I don’t even want to do that because you could sue me how could I sue someone when I would be signing a consent form HIPPA & OSHA consent form ????

They attended me very well. All the staff are very nice! They answer all my questions and concerns. The place is always neat and waiting time is reasonable. Everyone is very friendly and make you feel comfortable about your visit.

Honestly I have came here for a while now. The staff is amazing. Because of everyone else here I recommended my friends and family. They are amazing, and the lady doctor and nurse practitioners are awesome 👏!!!

The office and people are all nice . However the wait time is extremely ridiculous! I’ve been a few different times and waited a minimum of 3 hours each time. The clinics hours are convenient but after you’ve spent most of your evening there the convince goes out the window .

Am super annoyed with this doctor office..if u professional as it can be. I went to get blood work, took it before with a different clinic. result were high..they say go get second opinion.. I got to doctor pay out my pocket. they get my result dont call me. I call them nurse too busy to explain and doctor too business. The clerk , a great guy trying to explain the results but dont understand it himself.. I keep getting I will call you back ..seriously come to find out she didnt even look at my record then wants to ask me do I want to retake it with them..smh I rather pay someone who knows how to run a business better....so annoyed why I got to hunt you down for test result I paid you for ....then he rushed my exam I paid for..I am telling him I got something going on with my ear, he just look for 1 second, like he didnt have the time..I paid 180 for this visit find the time ..

I went in to check about my irregular period, I got a ultrasound to check for problems and was told I have polycystic ovaries. I didnt know 4 other people would be in the room while I was half naked under a sheet so I was kinda uncomfortable. After that I got blood work but I had no other explanations of what are the risk of having pcos or any treatments I could take to manage or if I would be able to have children, so I was scared, because I was clueless but I guess I would get all that explained when my blood work is finished. The nurses were kind and overall it is a nice place, I might change my three stars if they would explain more in depth of what I have and treatment I would take when my blood work is done because I paid 438 dollars to be able to stop worrying too much and stop thinking I have something much worse and to be able to understand whats going on in my body. Again I havent gotten my blood work so it shouldnt dicourage you from going because overall its a good place to go.

Wait time was 3 hours even though I had an appointment. The cost for visitation and ultrasound was substantially higher than my new OBGYN. Doctor and staff were nice but this establishment needs better management.

Severely overpriced if you’re a non-insured patient!!! $300 just to see the doctor for the pap testing to be done. This doesn’t include any additional testing. very very basic well-woman’s check up at this rate. Ridiculous, explore other options. There are much nicer places for half the cost.

Brookhollow is charging me TWICE for the same thing. I refuse to give them a single CENT after that quack of a doctor did a biopsy on my cervix without ANY OF MY SIGNED PERMISSION OR ME EVEN KNOWING ABOUT IT. It cause severe physical pain and emotional trauma as well. I will he reporting this clinic to the Texas State Medical Board again. DO NOT EVER GO HERE! This office preys on young Hispanic women with good or decent insurance and still asks you to pay out of pocket. Last time I was there, one of the nurses even tried to corner me into an exam room and said “you have to pay the $60 copay this is not a free clinic”. Does it look like I care after what you did to me? Nope. MALPRACTICE. They’ll be hearing from my lawyers if I get another bill in the mail.

Very unorganized. Was told to come at 4, didn’t get seen until 7 pm, then once we got into the ultrasound room literally was in the room for 10 minutes and he said we were done. I would not recommend coming here.

I been coming here with my mother in law and I have always like the attention they give to you and the staff it’s friendly and makes you feel comfortable. I don’t second guess my self to ask questions.

The best obgyn ! Had a wonderful experience my whole pregnancy, im almost due and all i can say is they were wonderful! Oh and the guy in the front is the best.

Brookhollow clinic Dr and staff are a RIP OFF. MY WIFE WANTED A Spanish speaking Dr and staff and we got RIPPED OFF. Look at the charges. $175 for HIV, $165 for HPV. At Anylabtestnow for HIV $49.00 for HPV $49.99. I also checked with an American Dr. and all of the other charges are double. This Dr. takes advantage of Latin speaking people. Ive report him to several agencies.

Súper clean place. Love the doctors and receptionist there. they wipe down doors, spray to make sure area is clean all over the building and even offer hand sanitizer to us patients waiting.

Doctor uzquiano and his team are amazing and very professional I cannot thank them enough they help me through my high risk pregnancy answering every question I had doctor uzquiano is a great doctor and I recommend him to everyone.

At first they were great and helpful... now as I’m trying to refill my medicine it takes me calling twice in two days and my pharmacy calling them to get it sent over, after they’ve said they would already.

Horrible service, slow results, dirty room,and staff does not communicate well. They had someone who isn’t even a doctor do my yearly woman exam. I wasn’t told it wasn’t a doctor until later.

Dr. Uzquiano is very good at his job and the nurses are kind; However, the administrations attention is terrible and the waiting time is excessive. They give you an “appointment” at a certain time and make you wait more than an hour to see you. I couldnt recommend this place unless you dont mind waiting hours and hours to be checked.

I want to mention that Dr. Uzquiano was my gynecologist with my second child, I had a very nice experience! Very professional, he knows what he is doing, I felt confident due to his seniority in his work to the point that a year after having my second child I wanted to have a tubal ligation and I chose him again! So they were 2 very good experiences! Very grateful!

Dr. Nelson, a very good doctor, thats why I decided to go to this clinic after giving birth and made an appointment with him and on the day of my surprise appointment he didnt see me but another doctor after that told me that my birth control would be done. 3-4 weeks they would call me! It has been 5 and a half weeks and I have called two different times in which I ask nicely when they will be ready to receive me and they promise to call me back and they never do! And since the last time I called theyve already hung up on my calls, its very disappointing!!! I already reported it to my insurance, this is a shame!

The waiting time is too long. I was there almost 4 hours just to confirm the pregnancy. The problem is that they dont make appointments, but rather they call you on a first-come, first-served basis or something like that. The doctor and nurses seem like good people, and they know what they do. However, I think that the service is not well organized, and that is why the delay is so long. I had a very bad experience in this place, the receptionists attention is terrible, they want to treat you as if you were worthless, they talk to you reluctantly, they tell you to go pick up your things, and when you arrive, they dont know anything and they love you. Treating one badly, the only kind person was Mrs. Maria. I hope to never return to this place of terrible quality. The receptionists must be kind, one is going through the loss of a baby and of course since its not them, they dont care. Terrible service, I brought my daughter to a checkup for a problem she had and within a week they had results of what they did to her. They never called her and after a month we came to check because they didnt want to say over the phone if they already had the results. and they still charged him for just telling him the results when they never called us to notify us of his results.
